Ireland (Merged)

Scorer, we've got an important game before Monday. Timisoara.

Anyway, back on Ireland...

(shrugs) Leaves with a good luck message from me and all the best for the future. I bear no ill feeling towards him moving to Aston Villa and I hope he can become the player he was when he rose to prominance, the one that made blues call him a one season wonder.

He is an example of the harsh reality though. Don't perform, don't expect to stay. We've got the better deal in Milner. 8/10 week in, week out rather than 3/10 one week, 10/10 another with Ireland. We cannot afford to take chances, we cannot afford to carry passengers if we wish to challenge for honours.

I trust RM on this one but at the same time, the discard of Stevie and Bellers alongside the purchase of Balotelli & giving Milner Stevie's number will be the making or breaking of the current manager in my books. Results HAVE to follow or they'll be supporters on this man like a ton of bricks, I promise you that (excluding me).

Absolutely spot on my friend.

I'm willing Milner to be a success because I think he's a great player to have in your side (not Mr Average as some think) but there are loads of Blues who are waiting to jump on Mancini if there's the slightest hint of these deals not bearing fruit.

To be honest though, I simply cannot see how Milner can't be a success. He's just one of those players who will always be popular with the crowd.

SWP's back said:
Explain the arrogance and lack of respect in wishing him well. Idiot comment.
Arrogance - I won't shed a tear. This thread aint about you.
Lack of respect - to suggest that academies aren't here to produce players to get emotionally attached to, yet your username sort of makes that ironic. Ok it wasn't a lack of respect, it was hypocrtical.
I would look up the definition of arrogance. I alsso won't shed a tear.

As for my username - it is because SWP was amazing, not because he was academy. Are you 12 or something?? The players are professionals and 99% of them move away from the club that trained them as adolescents. They have no more emotional attachment to their clubs than you do to your Job. Whilst City players, I support them, when they leave then I have no further attachment.

If that is arrogant then so be it. I would say you are foolish.

Stephen ( where did Stevie come from?) has the potential to be as good a player for Villa as James Milner will be for us.

The difference is that Milner is the guaranteed product whereas Mr Ireland is a temperamental creature.

Realise this is repetition but feel SI desrves another farewell & best wishes. A sometimes strange young man but he gave his all for MC. Good luck and best wishes.

Heres a player who adores City and their fans and wears our shirt with pride, and hes treated like shit. We've shelled out 20 odd million, plus Stevie. Absolute joke of a decision and makes us look like fucking idiots. I just hope Stevie doesn't think he wasn't appreciated here at City 'cause he really was. Good luck pal, you got fucked over, and its becoming a fucking regularity.

Rant over, on with supporting Milner and the team.
Wow - just wow. To say that was awful does injustice to awful
