The end of Superman...

im gutted, this IMO is a big mistake and will come back to bite us, only this time last year ushited and arsenal were after him now we've got about the equivalent of £2m for him.

He WILL find his form back, i can guarantee that and it will be hard to watch him playing for Villa when he does. Just like the Dunne deal i genuinely feel this is a mistake, the player of the year curse has struck again!

other than that i think Milner is a great signing and become (imo again) our steven gerrard driving us on through midfield.

is he going to replace Barry in the team do you think? or de jong?

Re: The end of Superman...

I agree, I am gutted to see him go. Would've liked nothing more than to see him and David Silva link up together.

Ah well, these things happen.

Re: The end of Superman...

IMHO,i think he will basically replace SWP,i hope Shaun stays but think his chances are gonna be limited unless he somehow regains his form before he left us

The only way it will bite us in the arse is if Villa finish above us, although not inconceivable, not very likely.

IMO We will never look back from this. Onwards and upwards. Thanks for all your years of service Steven. Welcome James

Re: The end of Superman...

Best move for the club and the player. It's clear he's not in the right place mentally at the moment and his opportunities here would be limited. Hopefully he can build his confidence at Villa.

Re: The end of Superman...

I wonder how much we have got for that banner? and more importantly I hope somebody has remembered to take it down before Monday ;)

Good luck to Stevie, and unlike OP I suspect we aren't going to regret this transfer, not that Stevie won't be a hit, but Milner will be a bigger success.

Of course he wouldn't, he's irish and has already been capped by R.O.I, simples.

Re: The end of Superman...

Hate to see such a talented guy moved on, especially one who has produced some magical moments for us.

But this is clearly the best move for us and for him - at Villa he'll be encouraged to play football, and he'll have Dunney looking over his shoulder. Best of luck to him. Hope he goes on to have a fantastic career, them maybe we'll be offering Villa £40m for him in a few season ;)

They are not the same player at all

Re: The end of Superman...

Everyone seems to have forgotten that the season before he had his great season half this board were willing to drive him to Sunderland. What bugs me is if he was playing for any other premiership team we would all be calling him a one season wonder.

For me he had his chances last season to prove to Mancini that he had what it takes but ultimately he hasn't done and therefore he's been let go. To me he's just to one dimensional and I think this has been his downfall, Mancini seems to bringing in players that can play comfortably in more than one position.

I can see him having a good first few months at Villa and everyone on here going mental saying we should have kept hold of him but it will be interesting to see how he gets on once his honeymoon period with Villa is over then we will see how good he is.

Re: The end of Superman...

god, i know hes not been brilliant at city, but itl feel like hes cheating on us when i see him in a villa shirt on motd on saturday
