Has anyone else thought its strange that the rags are so well supported over there but if you look at the big irish areas of Manchester they are blue, ie Leveshulme, Burnage etc. Being English myself but from a big Irish family, (that are ALL blues by the way) I've always found this a bit weird, anyone?

irish areas tend to be working class,i think this might explain why they're traditionaly blue,the rag infestation seems to be on the wane here,most rags under 25 here are glory hunters pure and simple,but i have no doubt they'd jump ship like the rats they are if the going gets tough,in my town which is mostly nationalist and catholic,i'd say that about 50% support celtic,then 30% the rags the rest is split between rangers,dippers,chelsea and arsenal,in a town of around 10.000 there's a dozen fellow blues

Everton have strong Catholic links.They were founded by a Catholic priest,its a misconception Liverpool are Catholic.Liverpool(the city) has a big Irish population

Why no Irish flags flying at Everton matches then? And why the strong Rangers/protestant connection?

you don't just wave an irish flag because your catholic, if there's irish player playing
you'll see irish flag most likely.
