Coming at it from an English persepctive...after I moved here I did wonder who on earth I would or could vote for.
Initially, I was fairly fortunate in that I could vote for John Hume, but other than him the whole bickering divided and divisive politics here was very disappointing and off putting.
I must admit at the last election though and with no eamon McCann to vote for I, for the first time ever, walked into the polling station , put a X on the paper...NONE OF THE ABOVE....I just couldnt quite bring myself to vote SF, I certainly couldnt bring myself to vote for any of the others on offer in my consituency.
BUT....as has been said, there does need to be some moving forward andf looking at what people and parties represent NOW....and I have to admit that SF could well get my vote in future as they do seem like a genuinely democratic and progressive party.
As much as I wasnt a fan...it was said that Trump was a "disruptor" and i see SF as doing that down south. You would think that the traditional Unionist parties would take a look at what they are doing and realise they are being outflanked by SF all the time with them, pretty much like FF/FG failing to modernise and adapt.
