Irish Women’s Team singing pro IRA chant

You’re entitled to that opinion, personally, I would prefer Jerusalem for the England national sporting teams.

A much better tune and gets my vote.
However maybe not really a tune for the British as it’s all about England and it being pleasant and green (maybe in some lost corner of Cheshire but not where I live, which is mostly grey and definitely somewhat unpleasant).
The other bits of Britain could sing their own tunes I guess?

I would agree with that.

And I am not anti classic british songs, I love British grenadiers and heart of oak, garyowen etc but GStK/Q just isn't my cup of tea

It really wasn't an issue. Sky Sports News made it one and they don't exactly reflect our views.
I reckon some of the families of the Irish players might have advised them to nip it in the bud too. The person who records and posts this signing is more at fault IMHO. I’m not that arsed myself.

They have got their own national anthems.

Yeah the Uk cannot use it, as you’re right, it’s a song for just England.

Completely agree mate. I always find people filming are bad grasses.

Not sure, but I guess certain societies at Oxford Uni still do. Ones that are partial to a bit of pig.
I’m guessing the sort of people who get offended by everything are those whose grandmas went on a weekend trip to Belfast and now consider themselves full blown Irish. I do t know anyone whose made a big deal of the video of the Irish women team singing.

It’s helpful to political activists to say the England are outraged when most of us don’t give a fcuk.
