Is an employees sex life any of their employer's business?

I guess it depends on the job.

If your job requires any level of security clearance, then your employer might want to know if there is anything in your background (such as what you view on the internet, or if you are a member of a swingers club) which may leave you open to blackmail. The higher the level of clearance, the more they would want to know.

What if your sex life means you end up with HIV or something like that, do you think that the people you work with have the right to know or should it be kept quiet ?

It can be argued, as it often is, that behaviour likely to result in negative publicity is a reason for employee sanction. Affairs and pornography can come under that umbrella, especially in the social media age.
