It is a bit disappointing to be honest, they do know what City means to us but what does City mean to them, it seems to me like some of these players are giving up the ghost on their City careers, we all know that if they keep trying and do all they can to show that they are good enough that they will be a part of it. I watched the Onouha interview on soccer AM again this morning and he seems to be resigned to the thought that the manager 'doesn't like him'! What Nedum needs to do is carry on being a great professional and working hard to make the manager like him, that is the only way he will go from being a good promising young player, to being a world class defender and possible future captain!!! The same applies to the others!!!

Sorry but if good enough they will stay !

Sentimentality is a major problem with City fans which needs addressing, how many City academy have we had high hopes for and yet failed to produce a World class player.

If we want to win things we need to buy the best, it isn't going to be popular but will certainly make us winners.

Onuoha, Richards, M Johnson - all expendable, to be honest. Onuoha wont get much pitch time with Boateng here now, M Johnson is constantly injured and wont play a single game unless Barry/DJ/Vieira/Yaya all get injured and Richards isnt as good as Zab and Boateng.

I say keep Ireland though, unless they can swap him for Milner (+10 million at most, Ireland isn't far off Milners quality, so we shouldn't give in to a silly demand like Ireland + 20 million).

i will be absoloutley gutted if they leave having watched them in the youth team would rather have youth players then overpaid players like robinho

plus micheal johnson is by far my favourite player even now

They can only stay if they are good enough. Sentimentality will win you nothing in this league.

-- Wed Jul 07, 2010 12:07 pm --

It's no good if they're not good enough though is it?

This, i think is about what the blues mean to them, wanting to work hard and bring it consistently. That is the next level that we aspire to achieve, that may possibly come with the next crop of talented academy graduates? Maybe they havent picked up the gauntlet quick enough??

yes but these players could be good enough there still young and who knows you cant really say someone isnt good enough when there young they could be late bloomers

The bar has been raised in the last year or two and will be even further in the future, which sadly means we may see less and less home grown players making the grade here. Hate to say it, but I don't think Nedum and Micah have come on enough and will leave. I still think Stevie can be a top class player if he can sort his head out and get back to the form of 08/09, in which case he could flourish when surrounded by the calibre of players we're now bringing in (hope its not too late). I hope Johnno gets past his injury problems, as he's another who I believe can still make it with us. From what the owners and Bobby have said and done so far, I think we'll always give the kids a chance. Whether they can take it is down to them and I hope many can but, even if they leave, we'll still be developing a lot of talent that will have a good future somewhere within the game, which is still nice to see.

Frankly I`m more disappointed by the attitude of the players rumoured to be on the way out. City doesn't owe them a living.
If Ned is a quitter - so be it
If Ireland doesn't realise that playing well every OTHER season and not seizing his opportunities when handed to him is unacceptable - tough

Johnson would be a sad loss - I would at least like to see him try to comeback and become the player he could be.
