Any Sports scientist will tell you a four day plus gap is fine but 3 isn’t.

The problem games are Real Madrid and Brighton.

Brighton's schedule is difficult too. They play at Newcastle a day after we play vs Real. They'll have fewer than 3 full days before Southampton and then 3 days before our game with them.

Pep will rotate at Everton. Plus, if the players are fully recovered from the game at Madrid, they can play 2 games in 3 days. Real played a cup final 3 days before the match yesterday and looked fresher than us in the 2nd half. The problem is when we have to play multiple games every 3 days, as it happened vs W Ham, Leeds and Real. Those wanting Pep to start our best XI every 3 days are being silly. Rotation is absolutely necessary.

Just had a look at the rags schedule for their last few games in their treble winning season and it was similarly brutal to be fair. I guess that’s what happens at this elite level when you’re chasing everything. Just hope the players can recover every 3-4 days so we can make footballing history too.

United could win the league with 79 pts and played in the 1/4 and 1/2 CL finals vs Inter and Juventus who finished 8th and 7th in Serie A that season.

We are competing with Arsenal who can equal the point tally of the Invincibles and we play Bayern and Real in the CL...Admittedly, we have more quality on the bench, but the route to the Treble looks more difficult, especially PL wise. We may need 90 pts to win it.

seen something this evening and they were saying its a 55% chance, no idea how they got those percentages and if we beat Everton and Real it shoots up to 75%

Yeah, beat Everton and Real my hopes will be truly risen. I know I’m going to sound entitled and spoilt here, but each trophy has a meaning, something huge riding on it.

We’ve never won three in a row before, then we’ll have a chance at winning four next season. So missing out on that would be a bummer.

Losing to United in a final is unthinkable, especially if they deny us a treble.

We’ve never won the champions league, we’ve got a home tie to get to Istanbul which would make us big favourites in the final.

Losing out to any three is going to be pretty shit and I can’t decide which of the three I’d least like to win.

It is around 38% chance we win the treble if they were unrelated events, can't see where they get 55% from.

UCL 58%
PL 89%
FAC 73%

Exactly. The priority is the Treble.

58% to win the CL is a bit high. If we give us a 65% chance to beat Real and then a 75% chance to win the CL final vs Inter/Milan, that's still under 50%.

Realistically, the chance to win the Treble is about 30% now. Even if/when we beat Real, the chance won't go above 50%. Only if/when we secure the PL title can we say that the chance for the Treble is (slightly) above 50%.

Still a long way to go.

All I keep seeing on social media and hearing on TV and radio is can city win the treble, will city win the treble.

It's honestly never crossed my mind. I see each competition as an individual. The only thing I'm concentrating on is beating arsenal to the league. Next week it'll be beating real Madrid and in 4 weeks it'll be beating united. I don't see all competitions as a collective. I think the only ones thinking about city winning the treble are people associated with united, fearing we'll match their record.

Are you thinking about a treble?
Never, i'll be delighted with one of either Premier League or Champions League. Preferably Premier League, to win three in a row and five in six seasons of the hardest competition in world football confirms this side as the greatest ever.

Treble??
It's still TOO early.

If we win against Everton then yes we can start talking about it.
Because then PL would really be in our grasp, for now I see it that Arsenal has almost the same chances with us. Because they have only 1 target to concentrate and easy opponents while we have 3 targets and a tight schedule with tougher opponents.
Win against Everton and all these change.
Then we will need just 5 points out of 3 games so I think it's very doable.

And Real Madrid at home is good news as we are very good at home and I see us winning, as much pessimistic always I am.
So always super pessimistic, but if we progress to the final then this Inter team is crap for our standards so I think we have it.

One thing at a time though and now we should ABSOLUTELY WIN against Everton! We should go out with the desire and urgency to win with 3-4-5 goals, play our best game, spend as much energy we can and play our best squad possible. Then if we go out with that mentality and not to save energy and have a slow/secure game etc, I think we will win.
Next 2 games are the most critical of the season. Do it!!

Being a FOC I recall vividly the ill fated 1969/70 Season when Leeds under Revie were in contention for the treble and ended up potless.
That also was a World Cup year and Leeds had a lot of players involved in preparing for Mexico.
It seems they just ran out of steam on the run in .The Leeds medical team told Revie the players were shattered so he fielded a weakened side and got beat giving Everton the edge.Reaney broke a leg and other injuries followed. Somewhat demoralised Celtic then beat them in the European Cup then Chelsea beat them in the Fa Cup final replay .
Leeds were a very good side but wouldn’t have all the benefits of modern ,diet training and tech City have.
However one slip up by us could trigger a slide .
We have a mountain still to climb - C’mon City.

Working with a rag today.
A decent one who goes to the games.
He's absolutely shitting it he thinks we have a great chance and play the best football this country has ever seen
