I seem to remember that we were all raving about Arsharvin last year before the takeover now that we have money...hes not good enough..

Arsharvin or bellamy ??

Tin hat time....Bellamy would bring some aggression to squad so have to say him at the moment.

Fair comment....But its only money that has stumped Arsenal from getting arsharvin..

If hes good enough for Arsenal the hes good enough for City imo.

Re: Arshavin is coming?

It's WUM. The word around N London is that it's the attempt by Arshavin's agent to scare Arsenal into meeting his demands quicksharp. Apparently thinking is that the big link between Arsenal and Arshavin is through Usmanov (an oligarch with a big stake in Arsenal) and his contact back in russia with arshavin's club and with the gas company that pays most of his wage. So noone would hijack the Arshavin bid as it wouuld mess too many things up. It's still likely Arshavin may end up going elsewhere, but only if behind closed doors the gooners say once and for all that they can't afford him and wont compete for him.

no tin hat required, they are both good players but bellamy is proven in the prem so i too say bellamy.
both would be nice.

Re: Arshavin is coming?

are some of you lot on drugs??!!! Arshavin plays just behind the striker and is pure class. Would be a brilliant signing but we already have quality in that position!

Re: Arshavin is coming?

Don't want him - we do NOT need another 5' 4" attacking midfielder who weighs 9 stone dripping wet. He's also class when he wants to be but their last game of the euros he went completely missing. The position we least need to strengthen is AM, does this mean we've given up on Kaka? :)

Screw Bellamy also, I'd much rather have Podolski who can play LW & ST, there's loads of people who can fill in on RW - a lot more difficult to get decent LWs.

Proven at what, I would think the mark of any striker is to score double figures in a season for the club you play for. Bellamy has been playing since 1996 and even if you forget seasons and just take the clubs he has played for 7(that alone should tell you something)he has only got into double figures with 3 of them and one of those was in the 2nd level(1st Div at the time).

Re: Arshavin is coming?

C'mon peeps, yes we have a lot of money but you have to ask, is he better than what we have? The answer is simply yes. He is a direct replacement for elano in my opinion, and gives us options for the right and left and would keep vass out the team hopefully.

Im all for it. He's the sort of player City fans love to see.

If he's good enough for Arsenal he's good enough for us, since when is Wenger a poor judge of talent?
