Is Gaël Clichy that good?

I'd play Kolarov over him atm, Kolarov seems to have stepped up his defensive game to add to the killer left foot while Clichy's defending has become poor and attacking still isn't good. Nice to have options though. Just play Kolarov in Moscow and perhaps against Chelsea too.

His absolute refusal to ever cross the ball has always got on my nerves, but his defending seems to have fallen apart since Mancini left and he's reverted back to Arsenal Clichy. As I've said all along, I'd love to get Coentrao in

If you look at what the archetype top full back looks like they can defend which to be fair he is good at, but they score create or both and that's lacking from his game. But he's never done that so we shouldn't expect it from him. But maybe we need someone who does do that a bit more.

Lots of injuries seem to be taking its toll. He's been good but maybe it's time for someone else to step in. Id quite like Baines in our squad tho.

i just wish he'd fucking kick it into the box when he's got excellent crossing chances, maybe he'll hit it sweetly or get a deflection, but it's like he refuses too! bewildering at times, but a good player just out of form i think

It looks like he annoys the hell out of Nasri, when he overlaps and Nasri lays him in perfectly, only for Clichy to turn around and give it back to him. Every time it happens, Nasri has this sort of "what the fuck are you giving it back to me for?" look about him
