Is Gareth Barry better than Frank lampard??

Explain how they are different players?

If you think they're the same then i'm not sure me explaining it will change.

Barry is a holding midfielder, plays that position for club and country. His game revolves around tracking midfield runners and distribution.

Lampard has always been an attacking midfielder, making runs into the box and scoring goals.

Fair comment, but I'm my question is purely over the past season and fat Frank has not been half the player he was.

Barry has been letting a few fly, pretty accurate too tho' - *score more goals* seems to have gotten to him. Am looking forward to him stretching the net when he gets it right.

Not against Bulgaria he wasn't a holding midfielder,he certainly didn't drive into the box like frank used to do but he certainly created enough to be rated higher than just a holding player.

Yes he was, he was one of two holding players alongside Parker in a 4231.

Doesn't mean when we're pressing and attacking he can't go past the halfway line. Then then that wasn't the point, if you want to compare the two, you can try but it won't be very accurate.

The formation as much as anything else meant Lampard sat on the bench, not because Parker, Young and Barry were suddenly better than him.

Lampard is woeful right now and Barry is much better. But Barry doesn't touch Lampard in his prime.

Barry at the moment is the second best English midfielder behind Wilshere.

I would agree with this. I've never seen Gareth Barry have a dreadful game, whereas Lampard has had a few. An unsung City hero for me, has looked as cool as fuck every game so far.

That's what i said and that's correct,Lampard was dropped it's nothing to do with a system that he does or does not fit into.
