I really detest the England national team, never supported them, most overrated team in the history of the game! Hate it when our lads play for England, just watch the games to see if our lads make it through the games without a scratch.

I lol'ed when Rooney was sent off, but then again, I don't give a flying fuck about the England team. I'm English, but I have no feeling at all with them, except hoping the City players do well, but I hope that for every City playing representing their country.
I'm so not arsed about England, I don't even know last nights score and didn't even remember there was a match until I saw this thread!!

But I'm sorry for those of you who disagree, but I completely understand 'goatinho' where he says 'How can you hate someone every week and then 1 day you cheer them on?'. If like Tevez an enemy sees sense, denounces the Devil's Evil Empire and comes over to God's Blue side, then OK I can forgive and forget, but no I'm sorry I couldn't cheer an enemy on just because they're playing for England, especially as I hate international football outside of actual tournaments!! For me an enemy is for life, not just for domestic league football!!!

I wouldn't wish a Rag player even the slightest injury (Gary Neville, Roy Keane, Beckham, Ferdinand and Fletcher apart), so I couldn't go as far as wanting physical harm to come to any of them. I don't hate the Rags, I just seriously dislike them with every drop of blood in my body, with every inch of skin, with every bone, with every muscle and centimetre of sinew, with every thought I've had of them since I was 8 years old, with every breath I take and yeh I'd love to see their stadium burn to the ground, but I don't hate them.

I don't know if thats aimed at me, or not, but just because I don't care doesn't mean I can't comment on them. I'm a football fan. I don't like Man United, yet I comment on them, I watch many teams I don't support, but I have a good knowledge on them and talk about them.
Yes it was aimed at you because I agree with your sentiments wholeheartedly..... Don't be so paranoid!! :-)

I've got nothing against the patriots who fervently support England, but for me its a pass. I've only have enough love to give to one team and that's Manchester City and therefore couldn't give a fuck either way whether England win or lose. My interest in England peaked very briefly when last year we had 6 or 7 city players in the team so I watched the match more in the hope that the City players didn't let themselves down more than wanting to see them helping England to win.

As for the Rags as 'goatinho' says, 'How can you hate someone every week and then 1 day you cheer them on?'. And that sums up my view of the Rags playing for England perfectly.............

Can't help thinking that some posters are making such a big thing about how the detest United players even though they are playing for their country as they think they are somehow perceived as being 'cool'.

As others have said, England aren't really that good at the moment but I still like to see them winning. What really gets me though is the eulogising by commentators about some of the English players - particularly Rags.

One comment on Friday was that Rooney had a 'brilliant game' in the first half. Not from where I was sitting. Not a bad game, that's true, but most certainly nowhere near 'brilliant'.

Also, Young's pass for Bent's goal was described by the commentator as 'showing great vision'. Since when was a simple (and obvious) square ball to a striker a yard out rank as 'showing great vision' ?

Little wonder that fans of other clubs get sick & tired of having 'Man Yoo' rammed down their throats. We Blues are not alone in this.

How would anyone think that would make them cool?
