Is it just me or do other blues do this?

I lol'ed when Rooney was sent off, but then again, I don't give a flying fuck about the England team. I'm English, but I have no feeling at all with them, except hoping the City players do well, but I hope that for every City playing representing their country.
Same here; despite being English I have no support for the national football team because they are a perrenial let-down. I had the match on last night purely as background noise and only paid attention when Shrek got sent off and when Savic's beautiful cross was was turned in in injury time.

Another reason I don't 'support' England is because I'm sick of the of the same old drivel spewed by the media whenever a European Championship or World Cup comes round; they jump on the bandwagon of it being "our time"... no it's not - England will likely never win a major tournament again because they are just not good enough, simple as that!
i take it you didn't support city when they where a perrenial let down.If the media decide's how your going to think i hope they don't start saying we're going to win everything because we don't want to lose your valuable support(not being sarcastic there).

-- Sun Oct 09, 2011 12:01 pm --

I didn't realise anyone north of Milton Keynes gave a fuck about England..
is there anyone south of milton keyne's who is english and i know you where being ironic

Whilst the clowns at the FA continue to give shit managers bumper new contracts after the worst England showing at a tournament i've ever seen then i couldn't give less of a shit about England if i tried.

I was slightly interested when there were 6/7 City players on the pitch a while back, but that's about it.

-- Sun Oct 09, 2011 12:07 pm --

If we had Spains team right now everyone would be fucking licking England's arse and would be all over supporting them.
It's a circular argument though really. If the FA were seen to be taking actual realistic steps to address the inherent problems in English football with an eye on eventually developing a team in the mould of the current Spanish one, the average football fan would be much more supportive.

As it is, we're stuck in a never-ending cycle of mediocrity because the FA are intent on hamstringing their managers by treating the national setup as a cashcow for appeasing sponsors.

10 years after the 'Golden Generation' first came to the fore, we're now further away than ever from being of the required standard. That's the reason people are switching off in ever-increasing numbers.
That's not a reason to switch off though. That's being unloyal. Imagine if all us Blues fucked off on City after Swales took us from being a premier team in this country to a fucking laughing stock, selling all our good young local talent, ruining the stadium, ruining the bank balance etc etc. Don't get me wrong, England rate way down under City for how much I support them but I do support England. What we're left with at the present time with football fans is a properly pathetic, bitter, twisted, sad and very Rag-esque bunch of wankers as a football nation. This includes many many City fans.

I'd say the flaw in your post is that people choose to support their club. Simply being English doesn't mean you have to support team England

Abso-fucking-lutely this.

Don't presume to know how and why everyone feels the way they do Dan.

Smalling/jones out of position ahead of Richards sums up England for me.

Stoner has a very good point above. To say someone is a wanker and/or fickle/rag-ish just because they don't excited about England is bollocks and makes you sound more rag-esque or wankery more than anything.

The only way i can sum it up is i'd rather City win the Carling cup this year and be certain off a top four finish than see England win the world cup. Only one concern in football for me and thats City, can't support a team with a load of rags running about in it.

Far from it; I've supported City for a long time, have been through the ups & downs of the mid-late 90s like everyone else and my support & passion has never wavered. I'm not saying the media decide who I support and/or how I think, I'm simply stating that it's annoying (or more appropriately, amusing) to see them say the same thing every time a major tournament is due and effectively dupe a lot of people into believing that England will win.

Well said!

very pleased that jones had a shocker , it proves micah should have played , shreks sending off was hilarious , this proves he should never captain his country. Young is a great player and liked him at villa , just a pity baconface will get all the credit for making him a world class player , just because he spent £18m on him. As for welbeck , give me a break , if he is an england international so is phil neville and gary neville , ridiculous.

england matches

is it just me that has NO interest whatsoever?

half watched the game the other night, and felt nothing emotionally when any goals went in.

honestly just dont care at all.

this isnt a reaction from england being shite . if we were to win the world cup even, i wouldnt be that bothered.

infact id take three pointsagainst villa next week, over england winning 2014 world cup.

anyone else?

Re: england matches

We won't win anything for a good while ! We are well short of the mark to be winning anything so no. But I still watch england play because football is football.

Yep I'd rather have the 3 points.
