Is it Just MP or do we need changes higher up?

So you think we have the right manager ?

That all depends on your outlook as a supporter , if a "fan" thinks like a rag and believes we should win every trophy every season , then MP(nor Mancini) is not your man and MCFC are not your club. My outlook , is our success with Mancini and Pellegrini at the helm has been acceptable , and commensurate with the money invested into the squad , we have won titles , qualified for champs league regularly , been to Wembley several times ,and the club has grown immeasurably since the "take over" , so overall i would say Khaldoon has been successful with his managerial appointments . The shelf life of a manager at a top club is 2 to 3 years , so MP's reign is certainly coming to an end , and a new era beckons. But to say we do not appoint good mangers , is inaccurate , and our recent successes are proof of this .
My opinion doesnt change when we have lost a game 4-1 one week and win a game 6-1 the following week , it is what the club has achieved over a period of time and the which direction the club is moving , and MCFC are unduobtedly moving forward , all be it , with a few hiccups along the way. Perhaps a little perspective is required

The Txiki/Soriano debate was done to death a while ago. They delivered us some excellent signings in the summer, it's now up to Pellegrini to do his bit.

I don't see how anyone other than the manager can be held responsible for the problems with the team right now.

Aye, there is absolutely no way anyone can look at our squad and the exceptional collection of youth players to pick from and suggest that those above the manager haven't given him every chance to succeed. Not every player or every signing is to everyones taste, but it's undeniable that the collection of players available is now at a level where there are no excuses.

Totally agree , Pellegrini was 100% at fault for the dipper result , wrong team selection , wrong tactics , not one of the dipper team would get in our first eleven , yet we were thrashed , by a more tactically astute manager who got everything out of his players , December is a big month for the club and MP

Pellegrini is the right man for he job, at the moment. There's a reason many managers say he's brilliant. Pep for example loves his style of play and has spoken of his book

I think the OP seriously wants us to get rid of HH as he`s served his purpose.

Also: the barca boys are the right men for the job. Anyone who disagrees doesn't look into what they actually do behind the scenes, simple as that really

Agree, the question about whether Soriano and/or Txiki are doing their jobs and justifying their salaries is a much wider issue and pretty much irrelevant to the debate about Pellegrini, and whether he is doing a suitable job managing the players at his disposal.

The wrong managers have won 2 titles , 2 cups , 2 league runners up , and a FA cup final , hope our next manager is just as "wrong" .

I like how we "won" 2 leage RUs and an FA Cup final appearance. Frankly being first loser I don't see as winning anything.

We have invested heavily in infrastructure, squad and Management and the wins have been great BUT, with the investment, should we not have performed better? Would different Managers have achieved more? If you're honest about those two questions the answer is Yes.

For me, I would like a Manager that doesn't make the same mistakes time and time again. I would also like a Manager that is able to develop the players under his coaching.

The management team have done an excellent job.

Just close the thread.

How very level of you !

But the facts are thus. We have lost twice 4-1 to upper mid table teams this season. We have made some significant player purchases but are, on the whole, playing quite poorly. That is not progress, it is regression.

As scores of others have pointed out we all knew what was likely to happen yesterday as soon as we saw the Managers selection. How are the fans so perceptive as to know the likely outcome on just seeing our own teamsheet ? Is it because we are all football coaching masters ? No ! It's because we have seen the same thing happen over and over again, however, the Einstein that gets paid a kings ransom for making these decisions somehow cannot see what is completely obvious to everyone else. Talking of Einstein, I believe it was the great man himself who said 'doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results' was the definition of insanity. Well I'm afraid that Mr. Pellegrini, following his post match pronouncements, has to wear that particular cap.

This 'fool' that is currently running our team was carefully selected by the management who must take responsibility.

There is another quote which has been attributed to several people but is nonetheless apt
'hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard'

The PL now sees a shift towrds teams who run and press and harass. In the games we have lost we have been completely outrun.

Pellegrini must know this and should make his team selections accordingly. He does not. Those above him, having appointed him, must be asking why.

'Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning.'
Albert Einstein

I know it's a hackneyed phrase but Manuel can't take us to the next level. When we saw the line-ups we knew we would lose. One defensive midfielder with Liverpool essentially playing six in midfield was suicide. My main issue is that this mistake has been repeated time and again.

Right we've lost 4-1 to Liverpool never mind everything else we have done we've lost by a significant score line at home.

Let's fuck off HH and khaldoon shall we? Disgraceful losing like that I mean what have they ever done for us?

And shall we fuck off txiki and ferran? The signings have done fuck all.

How about we create a non-league team to go against the owners????
