But the problem is not a stability issue, it has to do with the essence. If our manager doesn't have tactical abilities than there is little time can do. The only option we can bank on in this case is if he does pick up tactical knowledge with experience. That is very likely and that would be the only way we can improve. Nevertheless this means we have to endure poor results for Hughes to learn. I think that can be mitigated with getting a long term manager who has those qualities.

but how? this can only come from the ability to read the game properly and be able to rectify the situation. I argue that Hughes lack that. For example (and I am not a tactician because I think it is a very complex and difficult knowledge to master), he might emphasize our inability to get on long balls when in fact it might be the case that we are unable to play quick football.

It will be easier to get a high-profile manager in the summer compared to now, I think there is little point in sacking Hughes at this stage as it would be very difficult to get the calibre of person ADUG will be looking for.

Look I agree with trying to look on the brightside and at the end of the day I just want us to win matches against lesser opponents but face it there has been the odd lucky result in the uefa that has got us into the last 32, and to be honest if we dont get in again next year NO player with any reputation will want to play for us this year.
I think that is the one goal we had this season was to make MCFC a club great players would want to play for. Do you think that has happened???

7th placed finish, most of the top 6 are still in the fa cup.
