I don't want him sacked now as it will not change anything. Summer is a whole other story!!

Just pro-longing the inevitable for me IP.

Get a new man in now, and i still think with the money we have available we could get more or less who we want, and they can work with what we have untill the end of the season and then they will have a good idea of excatly what they need to hit the ground runnung next season.

I want the next man to be the right man though. Are we going to get the right man to come in for a few months or will it just be another stop gap?

Your right, the right man is essential, but whats stopping the owners identifying their man asap, and at least having a go at getting him. I dont see any loyalty in football nowadays that the right money will not pull away from their current situation.

I would sincerely hope that IF they had identified candidates, this would be not be public knowledge, and any approach would be as discrete as possible. In other words, how do you know they havent tried.

Say for example Jose. He's not going to quit Inter where he has a chance of winning the league and the champions league to come to us.

No matter how much i think Hughes is out of his depth, he won't get us relegated and neither will the players we have. 9th or 10th is where we will end up which is shocking.

I think Hughes will have to produce a near miracle if he's still to be in the job for next season; based on our current form and our upcoming matches.

I wouldn't bet money on him and his management team surviving the season either, and would have to believe that somewhere (within our ownership consortium) people are asking questions; whether they're also asking questions of Mourinho, Scolari, Rijkaard et al is anyone's guess, but if so, I would hope the name of Cruyff might blip up on the radar for consideration too.

Don't sack him now, he will keep us up then we can get rid in summer.

I'd rather he went now and we had 2 guys who are passionate about City take over til the end of the season in Jim Cassell and Alex Gibson.

Don't be ridiculous.

How am i ridiculous? They have both done amazing jobs within the youth set up and they both bleed blue. They have the passion that can be injected into this squad and give them the lift the players need. You tell me, is MH doing that? Dont think so.

Please dont insult me for having an opinion either.

The typical English attitude! PASSION, PASSION, PASSION. Great! Lets get Pearce back, he showed lots of passion and that is what we need!

Jim Cassell and Alex Gibson should never ever be allowed to manage the first team.

I am a first timer on this forum after some time spent looking in. I agree with much of what has been written about Hughes and have been firmly in the camp of fans giving the manager their support and also for giving him more time. However I am becoming more and more concerned that Hughes does not seem to have a plan B or indeed the courage to make big decisions. Surely it is clear that he needs to address the problem of our 'homers' in Elano and Robinho. They are obviously gifted players but are they really the type of players who can mix it with uncompromising defenders in the so called lesser teams that seem to find it easy to turn us over every time we move away from Eastlands? Maybe he could, on occasion, sit Robinho on the bench away from home and bring him on when and if he is needed. Does he have the man management skills to handle this type of decision? There is obviously something very wrong with the tactics employed away from home but I dont see anything different being done about it and we are more than half way through the season now.
Not sure whether Scholari is the answer if Hughes is sacked, with his poor English, fine for the Brazilians but no one else. Morinho would be great in my oppinion but I doubt whether he would really come to City. I feel he would only join a team who already have Champions League stature. I reckon he is in waiting for the job at Old Trafford but would love to be proved wrong. Would he have the ambition/courage to turn our sleeping giant into one of Europes leading clubs?
