Is it time to get a big target man?

I wouldn't say a target man is a necessary acquisition for us. Most target man that are available are hardly good playing the ball on their feet, which contradicts our playing style despite the different attacking dimension he offers.

Mind, when the club was already trying to instill possession football into the squad, our last 2 target men were Dzeko and Bony, both square pegs attempting to fit into round holes.

Seconds to go 2-2 v QPR - needed to score - we had the ball deep in our own half - did we lump it up to a target man ?
Did we feck.
Love the fact that even in that situation we passed the ball on the ground all the way into their box before scoring.

We didn't need a target man in that situation and we don't need one now.

ps - Dzeko wasn't used as a target man and probably that's why we never got the best out of him although I always liked him

Kane will probably cost 100M pounds which is higher than Bale's fee. I'd go for him if all our deficiencies(pivot, central defense) is sorted out and Aguero leaves.

Lewandowski would make us genuine CL contenders. Played with Pep, can play Tiki Taka and counter and always scores 30+ without sacrificing the output of the players around him.

A target man would only be good if he could fit into peps system and be much cheaper than the typical type of forward we've signed in the past, since there are basically none who'd be available at a price that wouldn't destroy us over FFP it's not an option in my opinion

Kun is 30 this year and Jesus has a hell of a lot to learn yet. Kane, if not already, will be the best striker in the world and is only 24.
