Is it time to unmask the muslim woman?

Given that the vast majority of terrorist attacks in this country have been carried out by white males then, using ricks logic, trousers should be banned. I for one would feel so much safer on the streets.

Is this thread worth a read from the start?

No, i've just lost 1/2hr of my life i'm never gonna get back reading it all.

Schoolground bickering mate. Top and bottom of it is...

If you're for a burqa then you're a guardian reading lily livered liberal and if you're against then you're a jackbooted daily mail nazi.

Think that sums it up!

It's not a case of being for the Burka. I'm not for the Burka, I'm very much against it (or at least the fundamental cause of it - religion) personally, but I'm not for making it illegal. It's a fecking preposterous idea. To put people in prison for wearing a certain type of clothing is tyrannical, and no-one should respect a tyrant. And for those that cite our tradition/culture (as tho it's a sound argument), in order to ban the Burka, do you not realise that making clothing illegal goes against the tradition/culture of this country?.... It's you who needs to stop trying to destroy our culture.
Britain isn't exactly a haven for liberty but come on, clothing illegal? Crazy talk by crazy people.

Unlike yourself I am not a fan of men in skirts - they are never able to select shoes suitable for the outfit.

-- Mon Jul 26, 2010 11:03 am --

Are you trying to put my Sodas And Smut Stores (Cairo, Damascus, Lahore and Beirut branches -Baghdad franchise currently available PM to discuss terms) out of business?

I am new to blue moon and i have found this thread very interesting.I think that people should be allowed to wear what THEY like .I have heard many times that the burkha is a symbol of subservance to men and i think that it probably can be but a lot of women will wear it in britain for a different reason ,to stand out and be different because of the possible reaction they will get .Alot of people i think are a bit weary of the burkha because of all the negative press ,nobody likes to be told what not to do ,especially in a 'so called' civilised society of something as pointless as dress .As for security issues maybe if a compromise ,say if you were to address someone in conversation then the face part could be removed as a act of politeness rather than a complete ban would be better ?I just think that to ban the burkha would cause more harm than good.
