Is kolarov what you expected?

He's a shitbag and i want him to fall asleep on a train so someone can slap him.

He completely shit it for the second goal. I expect a defender to throw himself in front of kuyt but he jogged out and turned his back.

True but Kompany pulled the same trick tonight

his crosses are wank.

Apart from the thunderbolt at 1-0 that was about an inch from connecting with Balotelli's

studs (certain goal)

That was a shot. Shows how shit he is.

the biggest dissapointment i have ever know at city, i was expecting so much from him and he's been gash, proper gash. the only thing that may just help him is a change of manager and a change of system. tbh i dont he's worth all that effort.

I finally thought when we bought him, our LB problem was solved, we've always been weak there.

I saw Kolarov and thought yes we've finally got someone here.

but he's bobbins, never a defender in the english game in the memory of man.

i'll have to give him time i think, but at the moment i wouldn't even have him on the pitch.

if only he thought more about defending, charging 50 yards up the pitch every minute then finding himself in a half hearted sprint to get back and defend and still be 30 yards behind play everytime.

if he played as a full back maybe he might defend better, but at the moment i'm not impressed, he's slow, has a shocking touch half the time and recently he's starting to panic with the ball when he receives it at the back.

he's gotta improve drastically, because Jose said he's the 2nd best LB in the world doesn't mean he is, like some think.

Thats just it, i dont think its a case of formation or getting used to the league, he doesnt look to have any of the qualities modern premier league full back require. He NEVER prevents the cross and hes aware of his lack of pace so always stands way too far off his man. I dont care if he had a thunder shot, his 1st responsibility is to defend and he cant do it.

Left-back: Manchester City's cursed position. We could buy Ashley Cole and he'd end up gash.

The solution might simply be to hell with it, buy a fast, skillful attacking left-back of the Coentrão type and hope he can offer a lot going forward even if he can't defensively.

Interesting though if Mourinho does end up here, what he would do about Kolarov, having publicly called him one of the best LBs in the world. After seeing him play for us would he still believe that or sell him on?

BTW Taye Taiwo, who we were linked with repeatedly, is available on a free at end of the season but looks like he's going to Milan.

I'm with de niro.
What a disappointment. The man couldn't defend Fort Knox with a tank and a machine gun.
A player who looks fast against pensioners playing at full back in Serie A is not necessarily fast.
In fact, Serie A is barely more credible than the MLS these days. The league is 20 years behind the times. That is why players from that league rarely succeed here. Too slow.

I agree I'm disappointed in him, but don't you think he's asked to do a bit too much? The goals that are his fault are when a cross from his winger leads to a goal, or a winger turns him inside out and scores. Recently the goals we've conceded come when he's been out jumped by a huge centre forward or centre back, or out foxed by a hugely experienced centre forward who uses a bit of movement to score. When it happens right in front of the goal, from a cross that has come all the way from the other side.... to me that stuff is 100% the Centre Backs' job.
