Is Lescott becoming the next Kompany?

soooo..... where are the Lescott haters?

I've said time and time again that he is quality and he is a great squad member, not a world beater, but an extremely useful player to have at City.

No where near the class of kompany, but is getting better.

He would always been in the first 11 for games against the likes of Stoke, Bolton etc great in the air.

Handy player to have around the squad.

He's definitely under-rated by blues but there's still not enough to his game to justify the outlay.

Can we not give it a rest on the "outlay"? Its bad enough having other teams fans and the media going on about how much we've (over)paid for players, without us doing it as well.
This has been gone over so much. We have had to pay the inflated prices cos everyone knows we have the money and wanted to buy players in quickly. The price we paid for players is not comparable with what most other clubs would have to pay to buy the same players.

I think we're in a good situation with Lescott's form improving steadily, Boateng finding his feet at the club and starting to put some shifts in at CB, and Toure another option. Not forgetting the might VK!

Possibly the 2nd best defender after Vinnie.Playing well for a while now and he was excellent tonight but he is different to Vinnie who has extra.

Was going to start a thread myself about Joleon. He's improved recently and is starting to show genuine glimpses of why we signed him in the first place. Which can only be a very encouraging thing for even the Lescott haters on here.

However, I have a theory, and I really hope I'm wrong, but for some reason he doesnt play well alongside Vinnie. He should. But he doesnt.
With Kolo and Boateng he's looking pretty accomplished. With Vinnie....I'm not so sure. No idea why this is and maybe its just a coincidence thus far.

Brilliant at EFC and will be brillant for us if he keeps playing regularly.

Can be better than Kompany with a full season under his belt.

I have always rated Lescott and a good, responsible defender. He's well worth having in the pool of defenders at the club.

But better than Kompany? Not a chance, never will be.

Cant fault him for his last few games. That is why we paid big bucks for him but it is now paying off.
