Is Neville the best pundit on sky?

Have to be honest now. I, like many others on here, feared the worst when it was announced that he was joining Sky. I suppose I thought he would let his obvious prejudices show through. But he has been a breath of fresh air since he started. Fact of the matter is, he's played up to very recently, and he's in tune with the modern game. Compare and contrast with the half wits on Soccer Saturday, MOTD or any ITV football programme. So what if Neville was a United player, and is a big united fan. I don't think anyone on here would honestly class him as a ''plastic'', and he always gave his all for his club. Isn't that what we want our players to do for us?

I do think, however, that you may be s-t-r-e-t-c-h-i-n-g it a bit to nominate him as a future City manager; not sure he'd thank you for it either!

PS. Honourable mentions to Souness and to Peter Beagrie and Don Goodman for their punditry on the football league games.

i do not want to see trial by retro vid. I want refs to give straight red cards for anyone diving in the penalty box. Send a couple off and they'll soon stop doing it.
trouble is by this rule, Tevez would have been off last saturday. If you are giving straight reds, the video review is required.

It's a good point Si but they have to start somewhere. If Tevez had been sent off it would have been unfair but, it would make other players think twice about going down so easily.

Re: Neville: on diving.

Rooney going a whole season without a yellow card just sums up the bias they have had in abundance this season

Has to be retrospective because:
1. I don't trust the current crop of referees to know the difference between a dive and a player who's been tripped (as the past couple of weeks have proved).
2. I don't trust the current crop of referees not to use this as an opportunity to send players off.
I'd take this out of their incapable hands completely, and have a panel of former players looking through the weekends suspected dives, and handing down 3 game bans to all those found guilty. Would stamp it out in two weeks.

No, he's not. He's a good analyst who puts things into perspective for most but for me a decent pundit has to have other qualities to fit those attributes.

He's got to have some charisma, some flair and a look that doesn't have me imagining dragging him through my fucking TV and smashing his little Rat-Twitchy face in every time the odious little **** dares to come out of his lair!
