Like Jamie Redknapp put it, you look at Ajax's squad built on not much money and now look at ours and we are not getting a run for our money we have spent, too many average players!

But he also said we've the best squad in the prem if not in Europe.

The problem is too many players not performing at the minute end of story, you can all point the finger at Mancini all you like but i doubt many would have started a different team than the one he picked last night.

Yaya, Kompany,Lescott, Aguero, Milner and Barry we're all poor, a couple played ok but it was an off night again.

I personnally wouldn't have gone to 3 at the back but we'd been outplayed for large parts before that (10minutes after the re-start excepted).

Can't be arsed reading any of the 62 pages in this thread. I read the title of the thread which prompted me to respond...

The question is does our owner want a fight?

It's time to send a fucking message and Mancini being shown the door and bringing someone such as Pep to the table, might be the only option at some point.

You're usually a sensible poster but that is ridiculous.

The usual "we didnt prepare well" line

how many times is this excuse going to be used by Mancini ? they prepare all week, watch videos have the technical team going in to the minute detail on the opposition.

prefer him to just say we were wank and out played !!!

Indeed!

How is it that we are playing worse than we were in the groups last year?

The whole Europe situation is baffling.

Maybe a bit of perspective is in order here.

If you want perspective - place the Dortmund, Ajax, and City teams side by side. Look at the cost of each team, the experience at European and International level, the pedigree of the players involved, then ask yourself how it comes to pass that we are the worst team in the group playing the worst football.

Certainly it's a gross overreaction to say Mancini needs to go - but it's also pathetically "ikkle City" to talk about where we were 10 years ago as if that makes a blind bit of difference to our current squad and their current expectations.

Mancini isn't a managerial deity, and he certainly isn't beyond criticism. Last night he made the biggest mistake at the most crucial part in the match which ultimately cost us the killer 3rd goal. That's why he made some attempt to take responsibility although his pathetic response when questioned about changing tactics ("there is only won tactic, run and score") sounded straight out of 'Arry's excuse manual.

Last night he made the biggest mistake
======================
Good post apart from the bit I quoted which is absolute bollocks.

- Kun, Nasri & Richards all should have score to put us 2 -0 up
- Player error 30 seconds from HT sees an equaliser. Should have been more professional
- Lescott (or one of the other 5 stood still) fails to 'check' a defender from a corner.
- Player error for the 3rd goal..
- Edin missed 2 clear opportunities

So which mistake did Mancini make that was 'bigger' than any of these?

we are not playing worse. the truth is that we are playing vs better teams than last year with the same team that was not good enough last year
