Is social media ruining football ?

well, yeh. i've deleted facebook and twitter. but there's still a conversation to be had about social media's role in football and society as a whole.
What conversation?

Some idiot on X telling everyone Wee Davie is a wanker?

Why do you care what someone else thinks?

We had someone on here a couple of weeks ago saying they were having mental issues because of the 115 charges, dear lord!!!

FFS spending a fortune to go to a game or a concert and people are watching it through their phone, pathetic for me.

Another bug bear, having a night out and telling everyone on social media "it's the best night ever", well if it is, get off the %ucking mobile and enjoy it.

whats the big deal? if you don't like it , don't go. live and let live, no point crying about bla bla bla''

Constant click baiting tweets creating divide in fan bases whether it's against the owners, manager and certain players.
always a tidal wave of outrage after every defeat or even when a line up is announced.
More and more fans going to matches just for their social media profile, selfies sticks and selfies everywhere, filming themselves for their tik tok accounts.
More Arsenal fan tv type of streams now for all clubs.

I still love football but all the above has put me off somewhat in recent years and feel more disconnect with my fanbase and football in general, maybe early signs of approaching FOC territory.
Agree with every word.
Bunch of wankers.
Why don't they go to f1 and leave football to proper football fans

This site is the only social media I use. I keep promising myself to delete my account here but haven't quite managed it yet. It does have an addictive quality.

I have a FB account but never use it except for a few people that contact me through the messenger chat function. Never had Twitter and don't go on any other forums.

I don't feel that I'm missing out on anything really.
