..."Micah syndrome". All the bling has maybe gone to his very bald head. Just like it had done with our very own Mr T. One minute your the best player in the world, International, huge pay rise, Rn'b DJ, lapping it up, quite literally, then next minute your getting sighs and moans from your faithfull fans [yeah right!!]

Whether its the 100k fish tank or the personalised pink trimmed jeep for the Mrs. something is going on here... I just hope it doesnt take as long with Stevie to sort his shit out as it has done with Micah and start doing the business where it fukin matters... ON THE PITCH!!!

It's perfectly understandable when the club have banners hanging from a stand with the words like "Ireland Is Superman" emblazoned on them.

Wouldn't surprise me one bit, the same syndrome that struck Johnson as well

Edit: And Sturridge too

I am a great fan of the Emerald Prince but he has to start doing something for the banner. Too much craptonite on the pitch. D'ye think that green grass isn't all it seems? Have we run a decent check on the groundsman and some those HT geezers with the garden forks?

It's simple. He isn't a very good mid-fielder when playing in a standard mid-field.

Season before last he was average to say the most.

Last season with Robbie out wide and no second forward he had the freedom to move forward.
Make a telling ball or get on the end of things.
He has always been suspect defensively constantly wrong footed chasing the man running with the ball and tackling from the wrong side.

This season most of the time we are playing with two up-front and this causes him problems. No freedom to get forward. I though Sat would have suited him but no-one had a great game and mid-field was by-passed.
Not sure what to do about this but at the moment he has gone back 2 years in his play. Not blaming him just the type of player he is.

Maybe he is just pissed off at the fact that Gareth Barry is keeping his place, when Barrys performance has dropped?
At least Ireland can thread a ball through, all Barry does is go sideways/backwards. Still don't understand why he replaced Ireland with PV instead of F_____G Barry off. Rant Over.

I'm tired of these threads, all the excuses, possible causes for poor form, explanations etc. In the end it comes down to one thing, either you are good enough or you're not. I would say Stevie still has next season to show what he is capable of but after that, him being 24, if he hasnt made it Lampard/Gerrard style we should move on and give a chance to a new young and hungry attacking midfielder.

I have always considered Ireland a good player but never though he has what it takes to be in a top4 club which is trying to challenge for European honors. He can still convince me but the ball is in his court.

He hasnt been right since that dizzy spell a few months ago when he had to go hospital

I'd be dizzy, too, if I had to run about on a pitch, surrounded by advertisements that flash, flicker and change every second. Strobe effect? It affects some people more than others.

Needs to play far too forward for the way City are now playing, he is competing with Tevez for a place not Barry or De idiot. Not good enough to be more than a squad player in all honesty!

Tevez should be the lone striker and Ireland should be behind him. Ade on bench.

I agree with that, in the absence of a decent target man. Adebayor is a waste of space, along with De Jong and Toure he makes up the most ineffective and over rated spine a team has ever had.

I was thinking the exact same thing when I read this. He is in the papers a lot at the moment for off the pitch reasons.
