Im just being honest and saying you cant quite put him in the same bracket as Messi, Ronaldo, Xavi, Rooney just yet because this is the first time in a few years that he has become the player he can be

I know it hurts some fans but until he turns it on in the champs league for us then he cant be placed in that bracket yet

Sorry if this has been mentioned i havent read through the whole thread, but i think the irony is that baconface didnt think they could both play together as a front two because he thought rooney couldnt play as a number one striker which this year proves he can, if tevez played with rooney at united this year they would have the league sewn up now, if we had got berbatov we wouldnt be in the hunt for fourth.

For me he's a totally different player now, in that world cup he was still raw and new to it all, his first European game for the rags he scored an Hatrick and they were three outstanding goals. He's turned into a different type of player he is a quality all round player but I'll say it again if he doesn't get the service this world cup he won't score many goals. It's just my Opinion hope he scores hat full in the world cup, can't see it though.

Point still stands, England have played no-one. The 2010 qualfiers are no measure of quality in terms of England or Rooney's standing in world football.

We'll see how it is at the end of next season, if Tevez hits over 25 goals again across all competitions, he will join the top bracket.

Overall, after yet another brilliant performance by the cat, do you think he is better than Rooney who gets all the attention among the media? Don't you think that Tevez is more of a magic player than Rooney? Both are world class, but overall I think the Argentinian nicks it.

Tevez is a top quality player but Rooney is more dangerous.

Rooney is one of the best in the world for me.

I'd take Rooney above Tevez any time.
