Is the Family Stand fit for Purpose?

Whats stopping them going ?

price for league games and the cost of season tickets. yes they spend money on the pub, but you can't blame them - spend less money, with your mates and probably more enjoyment. I'm going to the everton game with a few people like that, used to go all the time, have stopped going and now watch in the pub.

Thats a choice though,if they prefer the pub fair enough, you said they would love to go, they could have gone on the waiting list and probably got a s/c for £350- £400 spread over 10 months or go to a game every 5 or 6 weeks at £35/£40 a game.

What other club would have one end behind the goal as a family stand and the other end half given to away fans

Only at CITY and despite much good undertaken by the club your observation is undeniable. It has taken years for fans to persuade the club to give more than half the South Stand to home fans w/e/f this season. No other club in Europe shares its home `end` with away supporters. Do any in the world then give the `home end` to away fans for cup games? Can you imagine that happening at The Kop or The Holte End. This issue has been rehearsed many times on different threads. The Police / Club safety officials insist on away fans being located at the South Stand due to the close proximity of the coach/car park and this will always be the case. If CITY want an entire `home end` which will not be impacted by cup games it will only happen if a third tier is built at the North Stand and all the South Stand relocate to that `end` with the `Family Stand` relocating to the current South Stand.

How about City creating a car park near the gasometer -North end - for away fans. Then let the current car park at the South end become for City fans. Just a suggestion.

I suspect that would be too far away for the Police /safety officials as it would entail walking some distance through City Square and along Joe Mercer Way over the Ashton Canal and the metrolink line rather than to an immediate, simple, self contained area adjacent to the South Stand as at present. There is no useable space at the North Stand which is operationally viable to create the same away fans facility.
