Is the Family Stand fit for Purpose?

Just pass the kids over your heads so they can sit at the front, like in the old days.

There will be more fans in the family stand next Wednesday then there will be in the CBL3..
Come on, that's a ridiculous argument.

There are tons of people who are moved out of CBL3 to fill other sections of the ground. The family stand IS the least populated section of the ground, it's also located in a part of the ground that features on tele alot (hence the empty seat brigade). It's just one of those things, don't see why people get worked up about it.

I know a lot of people leave the south stand early as well, the difference is, everyone's is stood up so you don't notice the seats as much.

Since we can't sell out the rest of ground (last 2 home games being in point) there is no point worrying about empty seats in the family stand. Personally my s/t is there and there is always at least one (my sons) or two empty seats for midweek games. Double or triple the price and there still would be. Because we live in Scotland and it is a fair enough treck back for a day game but a night match - there is no way I am getting him back at 2am with school the next day. And then we couldn't even make it this Saturday because of the friggin weather - it's either snow or floods. God knows why I moved from a country with shit weather (England) to one of the only ones with worse weather. Any jobs going in the Arctic circle?
It's a good effort that mate. That's gotta be an 8/9 hour round trip for every game right?

Good on you!

It was slightly tongue in cheek..
However, why are we having to close the top tier of our 'Main Stand' for a cup semi-final ?
The empty seats discussion should entail other parts of the ground and not just the family stand.

Easier to persuade my son of the journey now we are good. Imagine persuading him 15 years ago!! I force him to watch youtube every week to remind him what it was like - Lincoln / Bury / York etc.
There are no flippin flights on a Saturday either, so it's 10 o clock train that gets back at 930pm - back to the house for MotD

some proper embarrassing opinions here - if you are all so scared about being ribbed for having empty seats - you need to grow some. Who gives a shit if we have empty seats and people can see them on TV.

The people I know who take the piss out of empty seats don't even go to any games - they are armchair supporters. Mostly RAGs - City are not in a position yet to totally sell out their ground. There is a large waiting list for the family stand from what I have been told. So obviously demand far outweighs supply as it stands today.

As for we will score more if we kick the other way (seriously!!)

There are plenty of empty seats all over the place - If the club were that bothered (not asking them to) they could reduce costs some more, provide further incentives.

Totally agree the reason the ground is filling isn't because people can't be arsed to sit in the family stand. Have look in the Bell End at the tartan rug and flask brigade I bet you some of them buggers are still paying for tickets and not being botherd to show up.

The club should double season ticket prices in the Family Stand? Then only those who actually intend going to more than half a dozen games a season would buy one

Isn't the aim to fill the stand (s) so not sure how doubling the price would help ...

Even if they were double the price, I would not take my son to a night match. I value his rest and readiness for school more than a football match -

defeats the object of having discounted tickets for children

Me and my son have sc in the family stand, however the atmosphere is the real issue, hardly any singing. we would prefer to relocate.
I get the argument about empty seats but we miss mid week games as we travel from Poole in Dorset. Games that ko after 3 involves a stay over as no trains back, so pretty pleased we have had So many 3pm ko this season.
