Yeah Aaron Sorkin, just watched The Newsroom too. It's quite similar script wise. It took me 2 months to watch all 7 series of The West Wing. Martin Sheen is terrific.
You might like Studio 60 and the Sunset Strip. Brilliant.

I've never watched WW, so I can't compare, but I love Sorkin's work on S60. Worth a watch for ten notes anyway.
 
As much as i love the wite and SFU i still think The west wing was superb, by far the best tv series there has been. Very serious program that could make you laugh like no other programme - any WW fans will be familiar with the scene where a hungover josh is introduced to joey Lucas. Brilliant t.v
