Is the World what you thought it would be?

The world I think is way more violent now, more crime. The late night streets are not safe in cities.
Back around 1970 I walked home to Stalybridge from Manchester many times at 2 or 3 am, never felt threatened.
Wouldn't advise anyone doing that now.
We must have had a chat or two on that journey, as I lived in Ashton. Do you remember getting more sober the nearer you got home? Happened every time for me.

Everything has changed food banks in the UK have become something the majority accept as normal (for me poverty totally unacceptable )
Sophy Ridge grilling people on TV as if she is an elected politician Sam Coates the same an unelected arm of the Tories I don’t want to hear their opinions just the news (facts)
A.I. and disinformation is scary
The shameful cramming of families into temporary accommodation which becomes permanent because we are not building enough new homes. The NHS, Education and Transport all a shadow of what I envisaged.

On the plus side those fortunate enough to be at the top of the pyramid enjoy a lifestyle that those on the bottom can only dream of

Manchester City centre in 1970 after midnight was fucking dangerous.
And you didn’t walk for three hours.
Why didn’t you get the trolley bus?
Two teenage females regular thumb lifters in 1970 at 2am walking home, no way that could happen now Dads have to chauffeur there teenage boys and girls everywhere.

I'll add on to that with something like central heating, I grew up without it, we had 1 fire in the living room, that was it, now people can't seem to manage without a radiator in every room.
Cars are way better, smoother, automatic, much better brakes, power steering and more reliable nowadays also.

Quiz shows have improved enormously, take eggheads for example, they even had @Mad Eyed Screamer on there..I mean, how would he have got on telly 50 years ago ?
@Mad Eyed Screamer was on Eggheads, I never knew that.

Luxury. We used to dream of a fire in the living room. Best we could manage was a packet of extra strong mints and sat round my dad as he breathed out to keep warm..
We had a fire in the living room (a cracking fire Dad lit it every morning on his way out to work) it heated the oven and the hot water but Mum had it ripped out in favour of the new invention electric fire and immersion heater. Huge bills and freezing we couldn’t afford to use them after the first electric bill very sparingly
Just to add Sophy Ridge interview with Starmer this morning now the Tories are going to use Savile as an example of Starmer not acting as DPP, how corrupt is it that newscasters can act as informers of crime policymakers

Some, not everyone ....I just spent time moving an old ladies furniture around who lives upstairs. I'm nice aren't I ? (that's a rhetorical question btw)
I do that too, to the old blind lady next door when she goes out for her weekly shop. Oh how I laugh when I hear her bumping into furniture when she gets home, I'm nice aren't I?

Silly ****. You should be offering to fetch her shopping for her and giving her change back from the monopoly set.

When you die you'll go to hell then come back as one of those donkey's in Greece carrying fat old people up the hill to the acropolis in 35deg.
