Anyone noticed is there used by a lot of people now when it should be are there? Not a grammar Nazi but it does rather annoy me a tad. Never used to be that way. Ready for pelters!
Particularly when City, our only-begotten, are criticised for spending their ill-gotten gains...'Gotten' really fucks me off.
Loose / Loosing instead of lose / losing too?Are you joking me?
You've got another think coming if you think you could of taught this generation about grammar.
To obsessed with there iphones and more bothered about loosing it than speaking proper.
True story.Pacifically instead of specifically
Ha ha my wife says this cause she struggles to say specifically, we just take the piss out of her then get her to say Cinnamon, which she fails at as well. Always reminds me of Victoria Wood in Dinnerladies with minellium instead of millennium.Pacifically instead of specifically

I herewith and hereby advance my endorsement of 'Besmirched' for acknowledgement as 'Most tragically underemployed extant participle.'Besmirched

I use those. Or these?
EDIT:
Or them?
Well he was Scouse, not English so it wasn't his native language.True story.
When Joe Mercer was Manager he used the word Pacifically during a half time team talk about the oppositions space they were finding and when the players heard this, one of them said "why boss have they got oceans of room".
Hahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Scousers dont you love em. ;)Well he was Scouse, not English so it wasn't his native language.
When another Scouser, Joe Royle, was playing for us, Mike Channon had just joined and was having a difficult start. The team also hadn't started well but were on a run of 3 consecutive wins.
Royle was interviewed and they played it on the radio when we were on our way to Maine Road one Saturday. He talked about the team and agreed we'd had a poor start but then said "...but since then we've won three games in concession." He then talked about Channon, saying "He's come to a new club and is living away from his family. That's a hell of a transgression to make".
