Is this season turning into a race for 40 points? AGAIN

struggling to cope in games you fall behind in to gain anything pointswise

We struggle to cope in games we go ahead in too. I may be a bit stupid but I don't think this is a recipe for success or could someone enlighten me?

Interestingly, the abuse by posters who have nothing to offer to counter factual argument are still in the ascendency on this board - as witnessed in this thread.

Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs and Newcastle in point CBLUE but perhaps only Newcastle and Liverpool given the circumstances were games where we should have won and at least drawn respectively.

Not sure what the abuse part of your post has to do with struggling from positions where we need more mental and physical steel especially in midfield which would improve our chances of getting points from games we fall behind in CBLUE.

I never abuse players on thid forum , I only state whether I believe they add value to the side or not.

Unlike many I never believed ( I may still be proven wrong and I hope I am ) that we would go anywhere near emulating our home form of last season this season and in fact said so before the start of the year ( no brain surgery required there ) and given our form of the latter half of last season felt we would struggle to pick up a significant number of away wins particularly in the early part of the season.

I think top ten would be an excellent finish but I doubt we can achieve that this season , you have intimated that with Hughes at the helm we could go under this season , I think that is possible but I would be astounded that our club with its resources and current squad would allow that to happen.

To me it would be like the squad wanting to undermine Hughes position on purpose on mass almost even if they knew his tactics and selections were not best for the team , they should be smart enough and have enough character to overcome his weaknesses.

I think those posters who abused the author ought to come back and apologize. Ultimately he may be wrong, but his remarks (so far) have proven prescient.

nonsense, it was, and remains, far too early to make comments like that... the "AGAIN" at the end just sums up the sky-is-falling-useless-city-only-city-can-fuck-it-up-like-this-the-bane-of-my-life-nothing-has-changed-nothing-ever-will attitude that really annoys some of us.

I'm beginning to think that it isn't just the team that needs to get a grip. Perhaps we all do. All this negativity can't be good for us.

isn`t hindsight wonderful.

Although in hindsight I remember this post and recall tending to agree with it then.

Its good to see the sort of constructive comments given then still prevail for anyone who dares to question now. (not including those who say get shut just because he was a rag ..who should be told to grow up)
