Do you seriously think it will be that big? That we'll become unrecognisable?

I think it is largely dependant on the type of competitions we will be involved in next season i.e. the UEFA Cup or Champions League competition rather than simply the financial aspect of the deal. Surely they'll need to be sold on the ambition of the club and what they can achieve here.

It's alright having a stupidly big clear-out but we need to replace them with superior quality.
I do yes, I think we should be building the side around the likes of Robinho, Elano SI,VK,Zabletta Micah,,I see squad places for Joe Hart maybe RD as reward for his services.

All great sides are built from the back, as a matter of urgency we need a top class keeper and decent defence, we cant go in to matches having to score 3 or 4 goals to win week in week out, it is acceptable this season because we are going through a transitional period, but at the end of the day if we are to achieve our aim we will have to be brutal at the end of this season, and anyway at least we will be left with the nucleus off a very good.

Sit down with a blank canvass write in the names of the first team players staying, and then go buy the best players in the world for the other positions.

Is that not the way it is done when you’re the worlds wealthiest club?

money talks always has and always will, theres not many players in the world who wont want to play in the same side as Robinho regardless of competitions we are in,besides that theres not a player in the world who does not know this club is on the up big time

I don't know. You can have all the money in the world but you've still to attract these so called best players in the world haven't you? Question what we could offer them besides money and the potential for us to do great things and there's very little else is there?

At this moment in time I'm not willing to get carried away with all these big names and all that jazz. It's a case of I'll believe it when I see it with me.

We're too quick to blame our defenders. If Chelseas back four played behind our midfielld, they'd concede goals. Teams get to our back four too easily and we don't have enough players working hard enough in midfield to win it back. 2 sides to footy and pretty passing is only one of em

To be honest with you i think your wrong, the problem with our defence is its changing all the time because of injuries & whatever else. Seriously look at any team that has a good defensive record its the same back 4 week in week out. We've just not had that this season its been constant change every single match, and thats not good for defenders as they need to develop an understanding.

Look at the first half of last season our defense was brilliant and it was the same players week in week out. The problems all started when we lost defenders to injuries and whatever else. This year has been a joke though with our defence we've played what 15 games (including cup games) and we've had 3 different RB 4 different CB & 3 different LB. No wonder were being torn apart at the back, there just not getting the time together on the pitch to build that understanding.

I know where you're coming from but I'll stick to my point, it doesn't matter who you play back there and how long they've played together if the midfield doesn't protect them properly.

Next time you watch Chelsea see how often a ball is played into the feet of an opposing centre-forward who can then run at the back four. Not very often, midfield always cut it out. next time you watch us do the same thing, it happens quite alot. If JT had to cope with forwards running at him at will....well we saw what he had to do to Jo the one time it did happen in that match.

I can't see how playing SWP, Robinho and Ireland and sometimes Elano in the same team away from home is going to work. Wigan proved that, we can't cope with any team who wants to mix it.

We have to sell them a vision, is that not why Robinho joined us ?,some players get excited with a big project.

Its well known Robinho wanted out of Real Madrid he was desperate to get away he would have gone to any club offering the money, only reason he didn't go to chelsea was Madrid didn't want to sell him to a team in the CL.

Having said all that he certainly seems to be a team player and enjoys being part of the team at goal celebrations. the odd training session i've seen...etc

P.S Did anyone see the sneaky kiss of the city shirt from the newcastle game?

to become unrecognisable would mean we would have to cut out the sloppiness we have always been associated with, which does mean we need to get rid of the majority of players that were here before Hughes took over. That would solve the carelessness that has always undermined MCFC, then Hughes has to build a solid team of his own and instill a fighting spirit in the likes of Robinho and Jo to accompany the flair we already posess.
