Is Twitter taking over from Facebook?

Many people said it was, and I did not beleive them, I had a twitter account but hardly used it, started using it, and lo and behold I actually think it's much better than facebook more interesting stuff that I actually want to read (no offence but the highs and lows of someone's life laid bare in a status is boring to me) and I have also noticed that many people just can't be arsed updating statuses etc, so could Facebook become the new Myspace and Bebo?
