Is Twitter taking over from Facebook?

Fb is great for staying in touch with family and friends that live elsewhere. Post pictures of young family members instantly, video etc. i know you can email these, but one pic can bring a group that are miles apart into a sense of discussion that you could not have few years back. (hope that makes sense?)

Twitter I love, for friends funny post, funny post in general, mcfc news and other football and sport news. Also up to date and instant comments on current affairs. The Internet is already giving so much varied news with all sides of debate and twitter just helps even more IMO..

#loveagoodtweet ;)

Have both

Use Facebook for social life

Twitter for football and funny people

They can co-exist ...*insert information-technology based M.Luther-King speech here*

If you don't have at least one of the two, you're hipster/old/friendless.. maybe all the aforementioned

i don't have either and can leave the house on my own.

Makes perfect sense to me. Thats the only good thing about FB is that all communication to friends and family back home is quick and easy and more importantly, condensed into one place. The only time i use it is when im out of the country, when im here i dont even check it, i do think its bubble has burst though.

Maybe it's just the people I follow, but I find twitter full of tech-nerd types who never miss an opportunity to be complete arse-licking wankers.

RT "Blown away by @BillyStartup's new cloud-based poo system"

(Retweeted by @BillyStartup)

Also, referring to people by their 'handle' rather than their name is fucking cringe:

Eg Thought @OfficialMR2 was ace today - just say Micah Richards you fucking imbecile

Similarly, hash tags are fucking #cringe #especiallywhentheyarethislong

finally, the tossers who inundate celeb accounts like Ricky Gervais with their endless fucking attempts to write something funny and get a retweet is quite frankly fucking sad, and also #cringe

Oh, forgot the:

"Little Jack has a horrible disease - please RT to raise awareness

I used to love twitter but now it just does my nut in.

Facebook helps the social life definitely. I'm one of those people that puts "Maybe" for everything so I feel no obligation to turn up yet am perfectly welcome if I do! One of our circle refuses to sign up to FB and someone has to remember to text her to come along to the mutual curry or birthday drinks. Everyone else knows about it because of the Event.

If you follow the right accounts, Twitter is one of the best news sources in the world.

And if someone is annoying, simply unfollow. Job done.

Use them both but not quite as often on Facebook as I used too which is now mainly for football banter, little things on Facebook well piss me of such as why do I want to see or know why a friend has liked a picture and those pathetic Nike trainer pics that people have been getting tagged in particularly pissed me off, think fb need to sort some shit out or it could die a death such as other social media sites have, anyway must dash as have a compulsive urge to see how all my close famous mates on twitter are going

Think this timeline thing is slowly killing Facebook off and is the reason for it's own downfall. I personally only use it to check if people have invited me to certain events or to see how family members are doing overseas which I'm sure Twitter will replicate soon. Twitter is great much prefer it to FB sure it'll take over in the coming years.
