Isco

I still maintain that once that woman has Balo's baby over in Italy, he will be gone in the following transfer window

This. I think he will feel obliged to do so, I am definitely expecting a transfer request come the end of May.

At the end of the day you cannot blame him in doing so!

I have a feeling this might happen too... Balotelli is not going to stay for a long long time

The art of good scouting is to identify the Isco's before they become flavour of the month. Not that he was any great secret because those of this Forum were promoting his assets long before he became popular. Of course now every major team is looking at him which then diminishes our chances.

It's frustrating because there seems to have been a vacuum since Mike Rigg left to go to QPR earlier this year, and the consequence in my opinion was a disappointing summer transfer season.

While we continue to be a very good team, we are not a great team. I for one would have jumped at the prospect of Isco and perhaps one other quality midfielder, rather than what we ended up with. I hope that the new CEO will turn our transfer policy around.

Taveres Adryan and Duarte Bernard. Watch this space.

Don't know Duarte Bernard but watched Adryan in the U17 WC last year and he was fantastic. However he has no interest in leaving Brazil yet and turned down United already.

BTW we may have a couple of those "Isco's" on the books already with Denis Suarez and Sinan Bytyqi (very early to tell of course but he's made good first impressions).

However our club could possibly do a better job of finding young players who are closer to first team level (19+) to bring in before their prices skyrocket. Nastasic is one who I think will be deemed a bargain in five years time, would be nice if we could find a top young midfielder like the lad who ran circles around us yesterday (Eriksen) who wouldn't cost a fortune. Verratti would have been a perfect buy for us for a deeper midfield role and could have solved a big problem in our squad.

I agree, Verratti has been playing great for PSG. Do you know of Ntcham progress?

The Dutch league does have some great player in the centre of the park e.g. Strootman and Claisie who both are very good players. It is very difficult to afford players who have such potential and are at the cusp of the first team. Someone like Goretzka/ Oliver Torres would be great for us.

He's only just started playing for us, watched him against Liverpool and has a really good physical presence for a 16-year-old but it will be a while until we know how good he can be I think. He was rated higher than Pogba at Le Havre and right now Pogba would probably be pushing for first team football if he was at City.

The Dutch league is a breeding ground for great talents, don't say that on BM though or people will tell you Samaras scored a few goals there so everyone is wank (ie. those writing off Guidetti). Clasie is called the "Dutch Xavi" and has a really good future, I see a Bundesliga team taking a punt on him and turning him into a star. Strootman will probably be a star wherever he ends up (possibly United). Dries Mertens is the Eredivisie player I can't believe no one has signed yet, he wouldn't be too expensive and is a very productive player. Certainly better than Scott Sinclair.

I made a thread on Merten and that what was apparent was how quickly people wrote him off because of what league he was playing. Mertens is certainly better than Sinclair and would have been great here with his great pace and dribbling.

We should have gone all out for Reus I believe. He cost 15 million but he is world-class in every sense of the word.

Munian looks like better dribbler than him.

Muniain was the Isco of last season, both are great players and would love to see either in a City shirt. I think Muniain would be the cheaper option.
