Isco

Everyone to battle stations....man the airports....track the planes......look for helicopters......from the summer window date on :)

Isco was touted as the first marquee signing of the Manuel Pellegrini era nearly two years ago but the former Malaga playmaker ended up moving to Real Madrid, rather than following his old Malaga manager to Manchester City.

However Isco has returned to the gossip column, with his place at the Bernabeu set to come under threat again this summer.

Isco has played 32 times for Real this season and performed so well in the autumn that Gareth Bale-to-United rumours began.

Yet the Spain international, like compatriot Asier Illarramendi, always seems to be vulnerable to the Real merry-go-round that will doubtless continue this summer.

City's squad would benefit from some renewed vigour, with a number of players beginning to look creaky on the pitch.

we dropped a big clanger not paying hazard's agent fee, and then followed that up by not paying Isco's agent fee.

absolutely superb today. won loads of fouls, went past multiple players, also difficult to take the ball off him. superb

Maybe Carlo will bring Isco with him this summer ;)

Totally outplayed Silva today. Great player in similar mould.

yep, at times he looked like Silva does on the ball

he also outplayed Iniesta today. Best player on the pitch
He is Spain's current best player.

Missing out on lsco was a truly bad day for us transferwise. But you can't deny the player made the right choice of clubs at the moment he had to.

Hazard chose Chelsea

Isco(and his dad....) chose Madrid.

I'm not sure why you're attempting to attribute 'blame' to our club.

Indeed, but did we match the agent fee's offered by those clubs?

edit: to clarify, those players may still have chosen Real and Chelsea, but we refused to pay what their agent/dad was demanding. hence we didn't put that extra effort (although with Isco we shouldn't have had to since he had apparently verbally agreed). We aren't going to get players if we do not match offers from Madrid or London (chelsea)

Isco had originally agreed to join up again with his former manager in the summer but City refused to get involved in a bidding war with Real Madrid or pay significant agent fees.

Madrid paid €30 million for Isco and might be prepared to do business with City, although Pellegrini's side will not entertain any approach for Aguero or Silva.

Isco was a young lad when he turned us down couple years ago, not sure how fluent he was with his English . I think with Carlo possibly coming to our club he might be more open minded now. Would love to see him here along with Koke.
