Isco

After watching a ton of these "Isco vs..." Videos, I'm struggling to see the difference between him and Nasri in the way they play.

I hope it's not a case of get him because he's Spanish and Manny wants him. Could be another Mancini/Balotelli. Obviously he's younger and will develop but ee have a 25 year old Nasri who should be coming into his prime. I hope I'm wrong, though.

Only difference I can see is strength and height that's a what's the premiership is all about

To be fair, I've seen midfielders bounce of Nasri when he has the ball at his feet. But I guess that's the important bit, when he has the ball.

I don't think Isco is better than Nasri, yet.

Nasri is absolute class, better imo than most creative mids. The problem is that he doesn't produce it enough. If he actually starts playing to his capabilities, he will be on the shortlist for POTY. What he produced over last season though, was average at best.

If Isco just turned 21, is a consistent version of Nasri, then he's already a great adittion to the squad, but if he can do that now, how about in 3 years time ?

He won't make the instant impact someone like Bale would make, but it's unlikely we can get someone like Bale.

Isco in 3 years time, may be as good as one of Barca's top players. Good enough reason to sign him.

That's true, a lot of people have likened him to Iniesta which makes me wet with excitement as it is. Only problem is, he says he wants to go to a club where he isn't going to be sat on the bench and with Nasri and Silva in front of him he might not play as much as he expects.

I have never been a Nasri fan - certainly didn't want to sign him - but watching him he has a lot of quality. Great ball retention in particular. If you watched him in the Euro's last year against England he was very good - he just needs to express himself more. Hopefully the new regime will suit him and we will see the best of him. Having not wanted him, I certainly wouldn't sell him (on the basis of the potential he has). He has a lot to offer if we play him in the right position and get him on the ball in the right areas.

FWIW just spoke to my contact and he says that Isco would rather play for Pellegrini than go to RM as he is sure he would get regular starts at City and not so sure at Madrid

hope so, no way he'll get into that madrid side on a consistent basis.

I am telling you what I have been told. I am sure the Mods will be able to confirm that I am currently in Barcelona ;-)

Understandable, Pelligrini will be picking the team. If he rates Isco highly enough to bring him to the club, I'm sure he will get regular football.

Agreed, but there is not a guarantee with us either.

Whatever top 4 club he goes to he will have to rotate.

We have to take into consideration his bedding in time, it could take him a season to get used to the league.

Aren't you the one who said Isco is a done deal in January transfer window?

No, I said in October that I had been told the deal was done - not when so it could be this summer
