Isco

Re: Isco (Part 8 (weekend saga part 3))

The quote I have seen is this:- Speaking to AS, Isco refused to confirm who he would be signing for but did say of Real: "Madrid excites me. They are one of the best teams in the world."

It doesn't say he is or isn't signing for them in fact it says fuck all

Re: Isco (Part 8 (weekend saga part 3))

I'm not a rag.. In Arabic in my dialect, Raggi means watermelon. I only posted the Marca post as it kept popping up on the twitter feed. Sorry for the confusion.

Re: Isco (Part 8 (weekend saga part 3))

I said earlier in the thread that I reckon he will go to Real Madrid.

However, if on the off chance he comes to us does it no bother anyone that he want s to come (mainly) because of the manager? I mean, what happens if he gets sacked after 6 months, does Isco leave? What happens if Isco turns out to be shit, does Pelli have to play him all the time because he is his 'father in football'?

They are just a couple of concerns

lovecity if you saw a tweet or story saying "blackburn sign isco" you would believe it wouldnt you? u

that quote is 100% old and it was from a few weeks ago.

The quote is not old. You have your head firmly in the sand, so desperate to believe he is coming to us. You're like one of those Christians who say the world is 6,000 years old and any evidence to the contrary is met by insults and fingers in ears. I want Isco to join City but every piece of evidence points him to Real and you (and others) find ways to dismiss any piece of that evidence - even when the English journos are now saying it (all of them rags of course!). Would you bet your account vs. mine that Isco will join City/Real?

Re: Isco (Part 8 (weekend saga part 3))

Blowing up on Twitter that Marca have apparently said:

Isco has assured Pelligrini that he will join #MCFC

Several tweets now. Trying to find original article.

I still don't see anything in there to prove the quotes were recent, I'm sure we heard exactly the same quotes a few days ago.

They are from yesterday, AS chased him down in Arroyo de la Miel and took photos of him on the beach.

Canal Sur TV has said that Isco has signed his Real Madrid contract in the same place.

Ah ok, haven't seen any photos.

What a strange transfer, he isn't guaranteed game time I don't reckon.

Didn't ISCO say I will decide my future yesterday - that didn't happen either unless he has decided and no formal release anywhere yet.

If he has told us he's not coming, would have expected to hear something from the club.

According to AS (inb4 "Spanish media!"), the hold up is whether Real Madrid will loan Cheryshev to Malaga. People saying Isco's quotes are old are wrong - he said it yesterday and was reported to be very excited as he said it. I think people are really clutching at straws - every bit of evidence points to a Real Madrid move and the player himself implied it without being able to confirm it (as the clubs are in the final haggling process over the loan of a player before it's all signed). AS say it could be announced Thursday or Friday.

Completely agree with this. I'm not a pessimist when it comes to City and transfers, but it strikes me that this deal is done to Madrid.

Really surprises me though that people think this is such a blow if we don't sign him. The characteristics which Isco has can be found in many players across Europe. Isco just happens to be flavour of the month and one of the easier transfers to do because his club are financially fucked and therefore have to sell him.

Well I want to know the reason why Txiki has no matched Madrid's €24m bid, it's absolutely criminal in my mind we have not payed that.
How do you know what we have or haven't bid? I certainly don't and neither do you. Perhaps we matched it but he just prefers to go to Madrid. Perhaps he'll still come to us.

If we have matched it mate I think he will come to us.

Put yourself in Isco's shoes, it would be career suicide going to Real at this moment in my career.

He still needs to develop and be under the wing of a manager who knows and understands him and will be patient with him.

Madrid want ready made superstars for success now, they don't have time to develop players in the meantime as their expectations are ridiculous.

Watching Malaga last season showed us Isco had his good games and and bad games, he is still developing, and I don't think going to Madrid will help him become the player he wants to be.

He declared it was game time he wanted before the euros competition, I guarantee he would have more at City.

Look at Madrid as well, if they get their targets this Summer in Suarez and Bale to name just some, they will look like this:

-----Suarez---
Ronaldo-Ozil-Bale

Good luck to him getting the amount of game time he really wants in that side, plus he is fighting Di Maria, Modric, Callejon and Kaka.

I sound a bit angry and I apologise, but I hope you can see where I am coming from mate.
I know exactly what you're saying. But let's play devils advocate for a minute.

You've been made an offer by one of the most glamorous clubs in the world. You get to stay in Spain in a culture you're familiar with. You will have a top class manager. You're more likely to play for the national team playing for a Spanish club. You have a chance of playing in a CL final or semi final most seasons. The downside is there's lots of competition in your position.

If you go to City you play under a manager you know and trust plus you'll get plenty of games but the club is still very much in a development phase. We've never got out of the CL group phase. You're in an unfamiliar culture (although there are plenty of Spanish speakers). Perhaps you'd be tempted if we offered stupid money but we don't do that anymore.

Raggi is a Moroccan porn actor. Proof you are a RAG if I ever needed it...

"Raggi has been active since 1994. In late 2011 Raggi suddenly departed from the adult industry[citation needed] due to reports of a drug-related arrest. Raggi appeared in a large portfolio of various adult videos, mainly European hardcore anal pornography."

One thing Isco has that very few of the players with similar attributes have: Balls.

Re: Isco (Part 8 (weekend saga part 3))

We learn the lesson once again- speed is everything. For 27 days of the January window, Isco had a 17m buyout. Many on the forum begged City to act. We didn't act. He signed his new contract on 28 January. Then all the messing around with Pellegrini's confirmation, letting him go to the U21 and having an outstanding performance.

We waited too long, each time thinking we could get a better price later. Whatever we were trying to save wasn't worth what we lost. Meanwhile Perez just rolled in and slapped down the cash, game over.
