As a Muslim in the UK I've never met a single person who agrees with ludicrous extremist views. The number of those that do is extremely tiny but the media would have you think otherwise.

I don't think anyone in Britain really believes that the majority of Muslims hold these extreme views, think what pisses the country off as a whole is that the Muslim community don't seem to be shouting these idiots down enmasse...

Muslims don't have any responsibility to come out protesting, although if they did I would welcome it. 'Not in my name etc'. Their religion is not the major issue that characterises them, and nor should it be the case in relation to this bunch of halfwits. It saddens me that we look at a parade of extremists and think 'muslim'. They are extremists. Islam simply happens to be what they are extreme about. It taints an otherwise perfectly acceptable religion to lump muslims and extremists in with each other, as though you can't be one without being the other. If their views are so extreme that they are driven to wish (or even inflict) death on those who do not share their views, then they are fruitcakes, pure and simple. What they are fruitcakes about is essentially irrelevant to that essential fact. After all, if somebody beheads somebody else because his favourite colour is different from their favourite colour, it doesn't really matter whether the colour is yellow, green, blue or orange with pink spots. They are fucking mental.

Islam is a religion. It has many rational adherents and some fruitcakes. As to this bunch of zealots in Luton, it might be sensible to concentrate on the fact that they are a bunch of fucking idiots rather than concentrate on what precise form their idiocy takes.
