Istanbul CL Final chaos | City Matters statement (p 133)

The most bizarre thing is that YOU queued for a drink for 30 MINUTES while the game was on ?? REALLY ??? WTF
I had dehydration headaches, mouth blisters and queued from halftime to the goal. And that's after loads of water before the game... After 7 hours of Istanbul's version of Speed on 3 buses... I didn't piss from the game until Tuesday. I was ghat dehydrated. And yes, I do have a medical need to stay hydrated l.

Did they get split up from members of Poynton OSC ? Seems madness to do that on their own...I bet they loved it when they spotted you in the limo !! Ha ha, I pissed myself :)
No idea mate, I don't know if they travelled as a group or not, never asked, it just came up in conversation that they are members.
You're right about the limo, I had the smug smile wiped right off my face, ah well, I wouldn't change a thing about my trip, my first Euro away, what a debut. Hoping to get to Athens even though it will never live up.

I genuinely nearly pissed myself,3 hours on the bus back to the airport, dropped off at departures then made to wait going through security before even entering the airport
Finally seeing the piss pots was almost as good as seeing the cup lift

But according to some, you can't criticise because we've won the treble.

The club's failure to make any sort of public statement is utterly disgraceful and shows a total contempt for the fans. It's been left to City Matters to make the running on this. I'll give the chairman some leeway on this, as he apparently recorded his interview the day after the game, so probably was completely unaware of the chaos. But, as usual, our CEO is the invisible man.
The Chairman did record his interview the day after but there is nowt stopping him from saying something after that. His silence is damming and I assume the CEO and the rest are saying nothing because they have been told to keep schtum.

I'm sure they already knew by then anyway. Maybe not the true scale of it but I'm convinced they'd have had an idea. Somebody said the City staff were stuck in the car park for 3 hours afterwards so there's no conceivable way in my mind they hadn't heard anything by the time of that interview taking place.

Maybe that's more on the 'interviewer' and his questions than the chairman but as you say there's been ample time since and not a word from anybody from the club.

Told told keep schtum by who? Or is it whom?
At least 20,000 City fans were treated like shit. Several thousand more who bought tickets directly from UEFA were probably treated in a similar manner, so it's not as though the club can sweep it under the carpet.
Even fucking UEFA themselves have admitted it was "less than perfect" so why are the club scared to voice an opinion?
I'm 66 and spent over two and a half hours stood up on a hot sweaty bus after standing for over two hours at the game. - And that was about as good as it got for the vast majority of our fans irrespective of age.

I knew the ones that paid for the day trip didn't get any preferential treatment per se. I even pointed out to some before going over there they hadn't listed transfers as part of the 'subsidised' package on the City site. I got speaking to some with the wristbands on one of the shuttles and it broke down, so they were in the trenches with the rest.

Everybody's circumstances were different. I was in Istanbul about 21 hours. My plan was to spend a few hours in town and then go to the stadium. In hindsight I wish I'd either got the metro into town from the airport or waited until 1 when the shuttles went directly to the stadium. I ended up fucking the fanzone in town off after the first trip and just wanted to get to the stadium to be on the safe side. After the game I needed to use the shuttle to get back to the airport.

Sounds like although the metro was efficient it was full. It simply wouldn't have been able to accommodate an additional 20k city fans using it.

As I've already stated I believe the estimated times were all grossly underestimated on purpose to ensure that we didn't take the metro. If I knew beforehand the 4hr 10 journey time I was supposed to undertake was going to take 9 (without queing) I'd be looking at alternative transport.
The metro cleared all the inter fans within an hour. They'd gone before we finished celebrating. . Trains held 2400 people each (= 60 buses).

Have the OSC made any noises?
