I am 58 and remember it well. Water shortages too. Not too many people were aware of the dangers of too much sun on exposed skin then. I remember being on holiday in Devon then. This couple were sunbathing by a river and I cannot tell you how brown they were through sunbathing. Like someone had put gravy browning all over them. Probably both died eventually of skin cancer.

I was at an airshow yesterday, we took our shelter tent to get out of the sun as we knew it was going to be too much. I don't get the amount of people just lying in it literally all day... Some of them looked torched on the way out and there were a few ambulances blue lighting taking people who'd obviously had too much.Yeah sick of those idiots. I am 58 and remember it well.
