Personally not a fan of Douglas Luiz at all, I was hoping this season Nunes would have turned a corner but he hasn't, The signings of Kalvin Phillips and Matheus Nunes have turned out to be really bad, This guy is next in line...

Yes a decent stop gap on loan, but a commitment to buy would be a good reason to walk away, if we want other players longer term.

Luiz is probably a case of Prem experience being valued and a safe choice being considered. Not a fan. Villa stint was nice but he didn’t show anything to warrant being a City midfielder, and his failed impression in Serie A which is a very technical league is a big red flag for me. Considering the flops of recent we could aim for someone much better. But I understand the January market and its demands. Somewhat the right profile, just not the player in terms of quality needed.

Hopefully if we’re actually getting him, he proves us wrong and becomes a pivotal part of the team. He definitely has the base skillset to work with, but we need someone who ups their game, provides that physical presence and most importantly legs in the middle.

I would be happier with Luiz replacing Nunes in that Luiz has had a couple of decent seasons. Nunes is a bit of coward for me. Think he has ability and can deliver a decent cross but he’s not brave enough to play at our level.

I was onboard for a loan to get us over the hump but don’t think we should buy him. He’ll be of no use next season

Sorry you feel that way about him, he certainly held his own in Villas midfield, probably do a great job for us.

Nunes has 3 goals and 6 assists playing as a winger - not sure how he hasn't turned a corner when he's been one of the more impactful players while never playing centrally. Him not being trusted by Pep is more pertinent than what he's shown on when played

I don't think he's scored a Premier League goal this season, Plus he's only started 6 games in the league.

Considering our injury crisis this season you'd think he'd be a regular figure in the team, Don't get me wrong he's had a couple of good games when he's played but personally would have thought he'd have featured more, I doubt he'd have featured at all if we'd a fully fit squad.

Agree on Pep not trusting him.
