It’s Quiet 20 - What is the Wirtz that could happen?

The issue with Aina is availabilty especially with Forest's league position and new DoF. Not a chance we'll get him in this window and if Forest do get themselves in the Champions League then it would be a very expensive signing and (hopefully) we have other targets along with Aina.

Why would Aina be expensive when he only has six months left on his current contract? By the time Forest finds out whether they’ve secured a Champions League spot or not, Aina would already be a free agent

If he extends his contract now or just before it expires, I don’t see us being interested in him anymore. The main reason we’re after him is that he’s very cheap to acquire either now or in six months when he’s a free agent, and he brings Premier League experience. He’s good, but not so good that we’d pay big money for him if he were to extend. If that happens, I doubt we’d even bother trying to sign him or break him out of a newly extended contract. Besides, we can find much better right-backs who are younger, cheaper, and more talented.

For me the Aina links are one of two things.

We think we can get him cheap/for free. But I dont think we run that way, look at our Jan deals.

More likely I think we just think it’s a deal that can be done as we knew Walker was going and we want to strengthen.

Personally think if we go into the summer looking for a right back Aina wouldn’t be the main target.

They are still in the mix for the Champions League spots and more than anything he will sign a new deal at Nottingham Forest.

He will probably get a new deal at Forest and probably is using our name as leverage in getting the best deal for him.

I know that they are in the mix of the Champions League spot. My point is, if he extends, we will never be interested in him anymore. We will simply move on.

Not like an Italian side to be sniffing around a free transfer. Wankers never want to pay for anything.

If he isnt going to some random league for the payday, we should be looking to use walker as leverage for somebody we might be interested in in return. As an example, if it's AC Milan, we could secure a favourable summer deal for maignan if Ederson is indeed off.

A third of the way into January, no new signings and club captain jumps ship. You could understand folks starting to get apprehensive.
You probably are one of the ones that wanted Walker gone anyway.

And we have 2 players going to sign any day now.

Fuck that! £10m fee imo. Maybe we get a new right back in? Been linked with a few recently?
I think we’ll go after a new right back personally. This window is unprecedented so fuck it.

Only problem is who is available in Jan.
