It hasn't upset me as much as I thought I would

I haven't seen or heard a minute of this season; I only watch games actually I go to and not been to a game since Hillsborough last March. I looked on BBC at 10pm and felt a bit sad but frankly glad this season is over.

Personally I thought football should have been scrapped last March and only restarted when it was safe for fans to go back. I know most people needed football to get through the last year but it's been a poor imitation of football.

Still, Champions of England and Liverpool aren't.

Anyone else weirdly not arsed?

Out of all my 35 yrs as a blue and disapointments this weirdly ranks very low.

Probably a thread for anyone over 35

Absolutely this. Totally wierd. I was kicking the TV in at losses to Leeds, Brighton, fa cup. But I am so so with losing tonight.
I'm still irate that we haven't turned up in a major final and given an account of ourselves. But from the moment I saw that teamsheet without Fern and with our most out of form player. I could see the writing on the wall

Nope I’m gutted and can’t pretend otherwise. Wish I didn’t care but I do and I’m not ashamed or embarrassed to admit it. Don’t really know what to do now as spent all day looking forward to tonight. Just feel a massive and I do mean massive opportunity has passed us by.

At least when we do win it our fans will be able to fill half the stadium and attend the Super Cup and Club World Cup.

It’s all down to generations
watch it tonight with my dad 80 and son 16 I’m 52.
dad we will get another chance remember Northampton away
me was happy in 2011 just winning games cup, too young for 76 and 81 although my dad and elder brother went.
me first trophy live 99 gillingham, we have won the league and cup this year. Disappointed we lost the champions league.
son went to Wembley in 2011 age 6 and been to every final since he is in tears.

so I do care but it’s all relative to where you are as a supporter.

Completely agree. Football is all very futile, but losing a competition I have never liked to a team I don't particularly dislike is not as distressing as losing any game to United. I feel more for the fans who gave up time and hard earned cash to witness that rubbish. It's not the defeat that disappoints, it's the failure to give a performance worthy of those who travelled to witness it.

The disappointment died off pretty quickly.

One of the main reasons I was hoping for victory was for Pep, the players coming to the end of their time here and the owners. And the reality is I think both pep and the players underperformed so I feel less bad for them than I would had we got unlucky.
