Meaningless, overused, pointless expression that is getting on my tits almost as much as sentences being started with so.
Whilst I feel your pain, all languages are evolving and I tend not to choose using such poor grammar, however you can’t stop it happening, so relax and it’ll be one less thing to bother you. After all, it is what it is
 
Annoyingly, Pep cottoned on to this phrase, and would repeat it almost weekly in his interviews.

It got that bad, that it started creeping into the lexicon of the players and other Prem managers, much to the frustration of the press/interviewer looking for a headline.
