It was 14 years ago today...

One of the most exciting seasons ever, we basically bought an entirely new starting 11 and dumped them on the field. Benjani spoiling the munich 40th anniversary was glorious.

We took the previous starting 11 to cash converters and they told us to do one.

Moved back to the UK that summer after years of being an economic migrant in Austria.
Sun shining - away end rocking - lovely away kit - new signings making a difference - Frank Sinatra bankrolling us - Svennis urbane & cool. Felt like a new beginning. What an away day.

Last away win that year.
I had to check that then as I couldn't believe it was true despite going to every game home & away except Fulham away up to new year (I only missed 5 games all season under Sven) but you're right.

We didn't, despite what is recognised as a good first half of the season under Sven, win our next away league game that season till Newcastle away on the 2nd Jan with which I think we moved into the top 4. That's shocked me that

Boleyn in the sunshine, first day of the season, east end, new signings, sexy manager, jumpers for goalposts, proper football, Brazilian and Italian goals, away fans, marvellous Ron, marvellous.
Except that the game was dire. The cheerleaders at half time were the height of excitement.
