I think Mancini will have abit too much for Southgate

We won't be able to play like we have all tournament need to hold the ball.

My Welsh wife and brother in law are both really up for England.
Got mates who went to France for the last Euros and they said quite a few of the England and Wales fans stuck together over there. I was cheering them on after we went out as my housemate at the time was Welsh.

I think trying to hold onto the ball too much will be suicidal against Italy. They press high up the pitch and will dominate us in possession, if we turn over the ball trying to knock it about they'll punish us.

We need to be direct with the ball, get it forward to our pacy attacking players as early as possible when we win it back. We need to play like Liverpool did against City a few years ago. Soak up pressure, break at pace, take our chances.

Possession, and what we do with that possession in centre mid will be where the game is won or lost for us.

I’m a bit concerned about our centre mid, they’ve not been very proactive at passing the ball forwards in the tournament so far and it’s seemed that anyone who’s played as the attacking mid (usually Mount) has been invisible, but he’s not been passed the ball enough through positive thinking. We can’t have any of that in this game, they’ve got midfielders who will exploit it.

Once Henderson and Foden settled in the other night, I thought we passed the ball positively and effectively. Before that, the only real central threat was all coming from Kane when he was dropping deep.

Will be interesting to see how and who he plays. If we keep recycling possession sideways and backwards, Italy can press that and win it back in dangerous areas.

Well I meant more the amount of times we gave the ball away in the first half against Denmark we'll be dead an buried.

We need a lot more guile in midfield to unpick that defence.
