But there are other managers out there, surely - in any case, he still wouldn't have come in to replace Southgate a couple of months before the World Cup kicks off. So again, what is the point of sacking Southgate now when any new manager will have no time with the squad?

I was talking more about post world cup if we have a stinker. I'm struggling to think of a decent English manager outside of Potter.
