Whether he was any good or not is irrelevant, he showed respect to the club while he was here. Never complained and was just unfortunate in some ways that the profile and quality of players increased during his tenure here.

People slag tevez off and expect him to show loyalty and repect for the club, as fans we should show the players respect in return

his performances were disrespectful enough for me, every time he played he just didn't look content on trying to fight for his place, seemed happy to sit in reserves getting paid £50,000+ a week why else would he wait till his contract to run out to move?

If it was Balotelli performing like that week in week out he would get slated to fuck, there would be no "all you need is Balo" or "Balotelli is a top dancer, city legend"

The fact that Jo is probably up there with Mcmanaman for worse ever City player I've witnessed at only 21 and for £18M just proves how he never intended on upping his game or trying to show some sort of value for money (and yes I know its not his fault he cost us £18M) but at the time De Jong was never worth £18M and he's proved double that now.

My point wasn't about his football that speaks for itself, just that he is going now,he didn't do anything to disrespect the club so is there any need to insult him or for him to leave with any ill will. Maybe I am a soft touch but I just feel it is a case of it not working so good luck to him at his next club as you say it is all about opinions.

So just because he wasn't good enough for the current City team we should show the player such little respect?

The guy has represented his country and played football at champions league level, definitely not wank by any stretch of the imagination.

It didn't work out for him here, had few opportunities but never blamed anyone else, just knuckled down and played when required.
