Given has just left the club----not a problem, gave his all and NEVER MOANED,difference is he was good at his job

Jo leaves the club----sarcastic threads begin, funny as fuck too, gave his all? ok NEVER MOANED.difference was he was shit at his job

Are you beginning to get the picture ?

So just because he wasn't good enough for the current City team we should show the player such little respect?

The guy has represented his country and played football at champions league level, definitely not wank by any stretch of the imagination.

It didn't work out for him here, had few opportunities but never blamed anyone else, just knuckled down and played when required.

Good luck to him in the future.

He would never have been any good to grace any City team, even some bad ones I have seen !

But thats my last on this subject about him,I have put more effort into this thread than that lazy twat did in all his time with City :))))))

It's fine to have an opinion mate, and I dont want to fall out over it,but your in a minority

A football supporter/fan who knows just a little....would agree the fella was bloody garbage, even the most blinkered should agree

Whether he was any good or not is irrelevant, he showed respect to the club while he was here. Never complained and was just unfortunate in some ways that the profile and quality of players increased during his tenure here.

People slag tevez off and expect him to show loyalty and repect for the club, as fans we should show the players respect in return

his performances were disrespectful enough for me, every time he played he just didn't look content on trying to fight for his place, seemed happy to sit in reserves getting paid £50,000+ a week why else would he wait till his contract to run out to move?

If it was Balotelli performing like that week in week out he would get slated to fuck, there would be no "all you need is Balo" or "Balotelli is a top dancer, city legend"

The fact that Jo is probably up there with Mcmanaman for worse ever City player I've witnessed at only 21 and for £18M just proves how he never intended on upping his game or trying to show some sort of value for money (and yes I know its not his fault he cost us £18M) but at the time De Jong was never worth £18M and he's proved double that now.

It's an opinion mate but personally I would be very surprised that any player would prefer to sit in the reserves and not fight for his place, basically sacrificing his career.

It didnt work out for him, and physically he was found out in the english league. Still it doesn't change the fact that he never disrespected the club in anyway. Shouldn't be too difficult to wish him all the best

Good Luck Jo! You might not have been good enough but I think you tried your best. I hope once in a while in the middle of a dire 0-0 draw the south stand will remember you and a faint strain of 'All you need is Jo' will waft in the air. More chance of that than to hear them signing 'Tevez is a blue'

That's the one thing that I would disagree with most about Jo. I never ever felt he really tried his hardest.

Didn't cost £18m. Cost £6m with add-ons that were never activated.

He had at least one really good game for us. Have a look at the highlights of the Fulham away game. He showed great touch and everything he did came off.

At the time he had a run of about 4 league games. He told a Brazilian magazine how pleased he was to be getting some playing time. Definitely not a mercenary.

I think he just never settled and gained confidence, and the fact he got booed by home "supporters" every time he played was probably a big factor.

That's the worst thing about football for me, the brain dead who have to jump on the team or individuals because they don't understand what goes on on a football pitch. If you boo City at matches (whatever the reason - I don't care) then do one and "support" some other club.
